  This review is about the colour: Black

  I am copying from the review of the 51mm that I initially purchased.

  "Quality product with a very pleasant feel both from the wooden handle and from the metal surface. An additional advantage is that the handle unscrews, so I can interchange handles between tampers of different diameters.

  As for its functionality, I personally have no complaints, but it happened to be the first brand I acquired, and I stuck with it when I needed another diameter (58.4mm with a black handle for Gaggia Classic).

  P.S. The product was purchased for an old - simple - Delonghi machine that did not satisfy me in terms of quality, and I proceeded to purchase the aforementioned Gaggia Classic. I like it so much that when I part with the Delonghi, I will keep the tamper, regardless of the fact that it will have no usefulness as a compression surface. However, I will always be able to utilize the handle!"

  Beyond the above, which absolutely applies to the dimension I am reviewing, I will write that it is noteworthy that the company, in addition to the regular 58mm, specifically released a 58.4 for the Gaggia Classic. I am very new to this field to make many comments, but this decision adds value both to the machine and to the company, which seems committed to providing the market with the absolutely suitable product for the consumer trying to get the best from their machine. We are talking about a 0.4 millimeter difference!

  I am very happy that I started with Motta tampers and I do not intend to leave the company regardless of what size I may need in the future.

  Update 09/18/24

  I am attaching 2 photos showing that the color has worn off in spots. I wash it occasionally and not vigorously. I do not justify the wear.

  I don't know if it has to do with the fact that it is black, so the handle needs to be painted, while for example, the brown one probably just needs a good varnish.

  Ultimately, the detachable handle matters. When the wear bothers me, I will be able to use the handle from the 51mm brown tamper that is no longer in use in its place.

  Very high-quality tamper. Wooden handle and stainless steel. It is 58.4mm and fits perfectly in 58mm baskets without leaving any gaps, while 58mm ones leave a little gap. If you combine it with an IMS competition basket, then you are precise in size. The handle can also be changed and unscrewed if desired.
