Without anything falling or any kind of misuse, the gear that changes the weights broke. For 150 euros, poor quality; the weights also tremble a little.
Yes, okay, they are good and convenient for home use, but you quickly change the weight for various exercises.
BUT!! For exercises targeting the biceps, when the arms are down at the height of the thighs, they are not convenient. They have a very long length from end to end, about 40cm, and thickness at the end where the wheel that adjusts the weight is located, resulting in them not being suitable in cases where the classic dumbbells with discs or even more classic ones with fixed weights would be more helpful.
Furthermore, as someone else mentioned, they require attention in handling, from how they will touch and lock onto the base to the force exerted on the wheel, because the mechanisms that adjust the discs wear out with use, making it ultimately difficult or even impossible to change the weight (which is their main advantage).
Everyone makes their own compromises depending on what they are looking for, but for this price, it is better (in my opinion) to have some fixed dumbbells on a nice stand for half the price, rather than all this bulky complexity.
Update! : It fell-rolled from a 30-40cm box at the gym and broke apart. I respect all opinions, but let's also tell the truth. If I am going to spend 200 euros and they become useless in an accident, I don't want them, thank you. It's understandable to give 5* stars if you have spent the same amount of money, but objectively, if you see it (like me, who haven't paid for them but still use them), it's not worth it as a purchase.
I bought them a month and a half ago and I am fully satisfied. Compared to the dumbbells with discs I had before, it's like day and night. Not to mention that before, the room was filled with discs and dumbbells in the middle. Their construction is very good and weight adjustment is very easy. Of course, they require some caution in use, we shouldn't throw them on the floor, generally we shouldn't hit them, and also be careful when returning them to their base because sometimes you need to center them for the dumbbell to sit on the base. The price for the two is a bit high, but if you're into sports and don't want to run to the gym, they are worth their money.
Very good solution so that you don't have to put on and take off weights when changing exercises, satisfactory weight for exercises with less weight such as shoulders but also satisfactory maximum weight for exercises such as chest and they definitely take up much less space than a set of dumbbells with separate discs. The construction is quality and sturdy. With a little care, the dumbbells can last for a very long time. If you have the habit of simply throwing them wherever you find after exercise, they won't last long. And one thing is for sure, we are talking about the best price on the market for this type of dumbbells.
Very good choice for home exercise. The adjustment for the weights is very easy. When doing exercises, there is a slight movement from the weights but it is definitely not a problem. I highly recommend them!
I bought 2 of these about 3 weeks ago for 150 euros each.
The mechanism that locks the weights is good, but in some exercises where the dumbbell is vertical (like hammer curls), they move slightly.
The handle is convenient and due to its slightly larger diameter (at least compared to what I'm used to), it helps in chest development.
Be careful when returning the dumbbell to its base, as if it falls abruptly, the locking mechanism of the weights may break.
For anyone interested in starting or enriching their home gym, I recommend them.
Update 23/09/21: After many months of almost daily use, the only complaint I have is that when the dumbbell returns to the base while loaded with the full weight (24kg), there is a possibility that the weight selection mechanism may get stuck and require it to be taken out and put back in the base.
I have had these dumbbells for a week now and my impressions so far are the best. I should mention that I am by no means a professional and the use of the dumbbells is purely amateur. We are dealing with a sturdy construction, which features quality plastics and requires respect during use (If you are one of those annoying types at the gym who have to slam the dumbbells on the floor after each set, then this product is not for you and it would be good to stop this habit. You are not strong - you are annoying). Back to the point. The weight change is very fast and effortless with the rotation of a mechanism located at the ends of the dumbbell, provided you have first placed them on their bases. They were purchased for 160 euros (320 for the pair) and I believe it is a good investment for future Home Gym creation without needing a fortune. The only thing left is to see their condition over time. I hope I helped and happy shopping.
