It has measurement accuracy. When inserted into the valve, it retains the last measurement of the tire. The button is not for releasing air from the tire, but for resetting the reading. The air comes out from the protrusion behind the socket at the edge. I bought it to deflate pressure in off-road jeeps and it works great.

I measure bicycle tires, car tires, boiler and expansion tank containers, children's stroller tires with a car valve, even balls when I have the appropriate needle for inflation.
It shows compact and good construction. I had the same one before and its needle rusted after 5 months.
