It definitely does not offer the same power and performance as a plug-in heat gun, but for small tasks, it is ideal and its biggest advantage is its flexibility. If you are looking for something handy and portable for everyday jobs, it is a good investment.

1 star because I don't have the option of zero. I have almost the entire Dewalt 18v tool series. I had an electric heat gun for 30 euros that did the job, but I had to pull a cord. One day, I had a job that didn't have electricity nearby. Without searching at all, since I also have 6 batteries, I went and bought the Dewalt battery-powered one. Maybe it was the worst purchase I have made in a tool.

    Stay away!!
It cannot heat shrink tubing for cables.
For small heat shrink cables up to 6mm, it's okay, but for larger ones, be prepared to be patient.
It took 2 minutes to shrink a 35mm cable. Ridiculous!!
And besides all that, it drains a 5-amp battery in 15 minutes of use.

It is definitely not like a stream. No comparison!

But if you want it for membranes and stickers, it is just what you need.

It is also good for repairing plastics.

At least for the use I want it for, it is very good and practical.

If you want to make PVC joints and heat plastics, etc., then it is not a good choice.

The basic rule of buying a tool is to test it. Although I have been in the technical profession for years, I did not follow this rule this time and I regret it. I cry for the hundred euros I paid. The previous reviewer mentioned that it is not suitable for PVC, but I think it is not suitable for anything! Very low airflow that is lost. Maybe only suitable for heat shrink tubing and not for much else. I had a Black & Decker 1600w black with a rotating handle (made in England, please) that was amazing. With 4 speeds and temperature settings, it could handle PVC like a piece of cake. Unfortunately, after 28 years, it bid me farewell... Now it's chaos.

For the record, as you can see in the photo, I have several Dewalt tools that I am satisfied with. Except for the heat gun. Well, what were the people who made it thinking? Did they want it to be cheap... I will paint it and say that I bought it from a wandering Chinese vendor...

Attention! If you want it for PVC heads, I do not recommend it. The air supply is very small, it consumes one battery per head, and you can't get any work done! Money wasted for plumbers...
