It is only the 2nd keyboard purchase I have made in my life (excluding some cheap wireless ones for SmartTV) for a desktop computer. I come from the Logitech G15, which I have been using continuously since 2008. The reason I changed it is purely because I changed everything else except the keyboard and I wanted to modernize it as well.
Since the G15 is quite bulky and I got used to using the arm rest it has, I was very concerned about how low-profile the G815 is. Unfortunately, from the pictures here and from reviews, no one mentions that it has feet to adjust the tilt. And it even has 2 different heights to adjust it, which makes it even better and convenient for everyone.
In terms of feel, personally I am shocked and I love typing on it. Of course, time will tell how the keys will wear out from heavy use. I should mention that I use it daily from 9-5 for office work, which includes a lot of typing in emails, reports, and other documents. In addition, 3-4 hours of gaming daily on games like Cyberpunk, PUBG, Dishonored 2, Far Cry 6, etc. The other multimedia keys also have a very nice feel and the volume wheel is of high quality.
The ARGB lighting is something I was looking for because on the one hand, I want to be able to see the keys comfortably even with low lighting, and on the other hand, I really enjoy creating lighting profiles according to the specific game I'm playing. In other words, every time I download a game, I open G-Hub and create an RGB profile for that particular game with lighting corresponding to the color palette of the game. Is it showing off? Maybe, but it's my own obsession and I enjoy it more this way.
Is it worth the money? Maybe not (I bought it for 156€), but as a big fan of Logitech (all my peripherals since 2008 are exclusively Logitech) and because I want to have G-Keys and a Num-pad on my keyboard, it's more or less the only option. In any case, I recommend that before someone buys a keyboard, they go to a large store that has samples and test each keyboard to see if it suits them.
First impressions are very good. After one month of use, four basic buttons showed wear. For such an expensive keyboard, it is simply unacceptable...
Flawless, it has a metallic construction so you don't feel it's "cheap", quite the opposite. Its keycaps are low profile so it helps A LOT for someone who wants to type text (as mechanical keyboards are not particularly convenient for typing) while maintaining the style of a mechanical RGB keyboard. It's "gaming", but at the same time it's practical for everyday use.
Extremely programmable keys, you can create different light modes depending on the program/game running on the computer, it has adjustable one press keyboard shortcuts, and it also has a USB hub port at the back, so it's convenient to bring a USB port from the back panel of the PC to the front.
Beautiful, extremely useful, easily adjustable with its program and has excellent feel and construction. I would get it again anyday
After 4 - 5 months of simple use of the office keyboard, 2 keys faded away..
In such an expensive keyboard, it is unthinkable for something like this to happen
The low profile of the keys pleased me more than I expected. Typing is immediate, fast, and very satisfying. The switches do not make much noise. It is a sturdy construction and very high quality. You can program the lighting, save macros on the extra left keys. Media playback control is easy, and overall I liked it because I wanted a full keyboard and wired.
Bought on 31/12/21 and after two months of use, I can now express my opinion!!!
Incredible build quality!!! The aluminum chassis is the nicest thing, the keys are very durable!!! Lighting for all tastes and endless settings... to deal with. Incredible response, although I would never change Logitech because I believe it does its job very well. The tactile switches are a very good solution if you want a mechanical keyboard that doesn't bother the people around you!!! With that being said, at the price I got it, just over 100€ from a major computer chain, I believe it is very much worth it... I wish they would release the wireless version in a similar offer!!!
I bought this specific keyboard for 109 euros on sale from its regular price of 150-160 euros. For the price I got it, it is perfect, with very good key response. The key noise is normal (not too loud or completely silent, but personally I like it to be a bit audible). Cleaning it is a bit difficult, but that is not important, and the response is great.
I have had this specific keyboard for about a month now. It has an excellent feel and response (I use it for typing and not for gaming). It takes some time to get used to it since it has the side "G" keys, so you have to position your wrists slightly to the right compared to the usual.
The build quality is amazing. Even the scroll wheel on the top right has a great "metallic" feel.
Also, the keys are easy to remove and it is equally easy to clean.
Finally, we are talking about a quite expensive keyboard that may not offer the absolute value for money. I come from the G810, which had a similar price, but the G815 is clearly superior in terms of quality.
Everything is fine, but why don't the secondary symbols light up even though it costs 200E?
So, I have to light up the keyboard in order to type at night.....
Perfect keyboard is worth its money and very good construction quality
