POSITIVES:
- Easy installation (no tools required), stability of the disk inside the case (of course, the dimensions of the disk also play a role).
- Immediate opening of the disk, even in a USB 2.0 port of an old laptop.
- Excellent quality for such a cheap case.
- It seems to be "industrially standardized". Some other (metal) cases I have purchased give you the feeling of a B product - not this one!
NEGATIVE:
- I would prefer the cable not to be permanently connected to the case. It is a matter of time for it to wear out
With the Patriot 1tb ssd, it works fine with raspberry pi4. Satisfactory read and write speeds. Easy disk installation.
Update 05-05-2023. Unfortunately, it is problematic both with the Patriot P210 1TB and the Crucial BX500 2TB. When writing a 900mb image, while the disk recording starts normally and with high speeds, they gradually decrease and at the end the disk disconnects. With the help of a powered USB hub, it performs somewhat better. Overall, unreliable operation.
It boots normally with raspberry pi 4.
A simple case for 2.5" SSD drives (and HDDs if they still exist). I got it for an old SSD drive I had to make it external. Nothing more, nothing less.
Beautiful, elegant product that comes in very careful packaging along with the USB cable.
Super easy installation of the disk by removing the sliding cover on the bottom side, without screws and hassle. The disk fits very nicely and tightly.
From disk to disk (SATA II and USB 2.0 ports), the copying of large files that I tested (about 15-20GB), Windows shows speeds of 60-70mb/sec.
And a discreet blue light for the power indicator, which other boxes do not have.
I will return with an update if anything changes.
Overall, everything I have purchased from Ugreen has not disappointed me.
Good case the only issue I found with some old SATA 1 drives is that the speed is not recognized in a USB3 port but logically it should drop the speed and work. If you connect it to USB 2 it works perfectly.
A great little case that served me well.
The quality is impeccable, it is a sliding case that opens and closes very easily, as it does not tighten like some other cases that require force and struggle to open the lid.
I installed a 240 SSD that I had out of operation from a PC and I put it in the cosmotetv to make recordings.

Very simple process: you open, you put, you close, end.
Hard disk that was unused for years because no other external controller could see it, as soon as I put it in: like new!!! It worked, recognized immediately, appeared in Windows in a fraction of a second, USB 3 with direct access to files. Despite the age and slow speed of the disk, I found the quality of the plastic to be very good. Its ease of use is such that it is next to my drawer and I can put in and take out different hard drives at any time. It has served me perfectly.
From the cheapest 2.5" SATA III / USB3.0 external hard drive cases that one can find (I purchased it for 9 euros, which is the cheapest price on the market at this time - Jan. 2022).
At this price, one does not expect exotic materials and specifications, but it is a decent plastic case with an easy sliding opening for SSD installation (it offers easy swapping of different SSD drives) with very good support (side cushions). Easy connection, immediate recognition (Windows 11).
I consider it an ideal choice for SSD hard drives of this protocol, with requirements for light use (backup of current work) without excluding daily use as long as we do not have large capacities and requirements for high speeds.
