The plastics are worse than the previous 2016, it's a shame. The speeds are very good.
2. The cable is excessively short as you can see and also the cable button is not stable, it plays quite a bit.
3. They have lowered the quality quite a bit.
Unfortunately, the most reliable company in external hard drives, WD, has created an external drive with many problems and no reliability. I have dozens of WD drives and after 14 4TB drives from 2019, I have to say they are problematic. Almost all of them have started making noise after some use, and in some cases, especially during large transfers of 350-400GB, they never complete. If you make the mistake of interrupting the transfer, the drive never returns to normal operation. It remains very slow even after formatting, and even small transfers take 8-10 hours. In one case, the drive lost all files and never worked again even after formatting, but instead caused the entire computer to freeze. I have 22 drives from the previous generation in 2016 and never had any problems. This specific generation (2019) is useless and not recommended.
I got it due to a very good experience with WD external drives for decades. I use it as a backup on a Synology NAS in place of an older 2TB that worked flawlessly for 3 years. Based on this, I estimate that it will be equally reliable.
Very slow, but for the size, the ease of putting in and taking out, the price, and the large storage space, it deserves a 4/5
Because it is old technology, I only got it for backup computer. Nothing more. It does its job.
In a span of 10 months from the purchase, it stopped working, resulting in the loss of all my files. I used it a total of 3 times for backup. The most misguided purchase!!!!!
A piece of junk from WD after 2.2-5 years of occasional use gave up the ghost and I had to give it to a technician to recover 600GB of files that I most likely lost. Stay away if you are considering it.
I have 12 disks from the same company for years now, no problem. However, I just got 2 disks with 5TB and my iMac doesn't read them. They work fine only on Windows and I'm trying to identify the problem!
In the first week, it worked fine during the first disconnection I made, and when I reconnected it, my computer didn't recognize it, and eventually, I have to pay for a file recovery program. Stay away; I lost many files that I put on the hard drive and didn't back up.
After 3 years of occasional use, about 2-3 times a year for file storage and permanently stored in a drawer, one day it simply stopped being recognized by the computer. With various specialized online software that require payment, I can see its contents and maybe I can save some of them. Honestly, I expected more from WD and greater durability in relation to its price, as from what I see here, the same happens to many after a certain period of time.
The disk is terrible. It freezes and doesn't connect from the moment I got it. I use it at work and it has driven me crazy. Very bad purchase.

Absolutely satisfied.
(Relatively fast for HDD in transferring large files).
It stopped working after a few normal uses with careful removal from the computer. Unfortunately, I have lost the data.
Out of the 3 disks I have, one crashed and on the other two, accessing files is problematic with many freezes. They do not provide the sense of security you need when backing up your work, the main reason they are built for
I bought it for my PS4 and it works perfectly! When I play games, it doesn't make any sound at all and reduces the noise of the PS4 when I use it

It is a bit slow in data recording and sometimes makes a little noise.
It is easily readable from the computer, but it takes a while to open some files.
I believe it is worth its money.

In replacement of a Seagate of the same capacity that gave up the ghost after three years, this one is anything but constant in operation.
I had it connected to my PS4 since March 2021 and now to my PS5 for a few months. It works perfectly, I have no complaints. The only thing that was needed was to format the external hard drive to work properly with it, but the console did it on its own.
I have had this particular disk connected to my iMac since 09/2021 and after 1.5 years and 11,000 hours, it started to have problems to the point where my computer would freeze when trying to access files. Although the SMART status is still verified (and I have not been able to complete a surface scan), it already has 7000 reallocated sectors (probably bad sectors). It's a shame that I ordered the same model/capacity to replace this one.
I plugged it into an LG TV and it read it straight away without needing to partition. Overall very satisfied, I recommend buying it.
After a few years of occasional use, meaning I had it to store some photos and files and whenever I needed them (3-4 times a year) I would refer to them. I had it stored in a box to protect it, but one day no computer recognized it. I took it to 2 technicians and both told me it had died and they couldn't recover data, only some very specialized companies can, which charge about 1 euro per gb. That's how I lost all my files and photos and I still cry about it!

The disk is very good for its category. Good build quality and durable as an external hard drive with a needle. Its speed and durability compared to SSDs are much lower, hence its price.
This is the second WD 5TB disk I purchase. The quality-price ratio is excellent. I am satisfied with the speed
The best I could have for what I wanted, mainly for storing many music files and texts of all types.
I bought 3 so far, the 3rd one only to take out the plate and put it in the other 2 to retrieve the data... All of them had problems with the USB port, and it has been about 10 months now, and the last 3rd one has the same issue, the USB port is not working... It is important to note that all the disks are in a server and are not moved... I do not recommend it under any circumstances, not even for €20
I have bought this album twice, once for personal use and once as a gift. It's great for storing data such as files, photos, videos, and movies.
The company is now problematic (it used to be a tip). It crashes, distorts data, is unreadable, and is not worth fixing.
Purchased on 28/11/22 for 109.90 (5 TB), for use as storage and playback of PS4 games on the PS5. Once connected, the PS5 immediately recognizes it, "formats it," and it's ready to go. The read/write speeds for games (NOTE: ONLY PS4 games run directly from the hard drive and any external drive) are comparable to those of the PS4 console. It's quiet, sleek, and compact. The connection cable is very short.
I have 2 out of 5tb, for over 3 years, and they work perfectly. The secret is that disks without external power supply to withstand time SHOULD NOT be permanently connected to the computer.
A very reliable and VFM disk, I have purchased 2 out of 4 TB and have already had them for over a year, so far I am very satisfied and highly recommend it to anyone who wants a fairly quality solution close to 100 euros.
This particular model is worth the money no matter what capacity you choose. I used to use Seagate and had issues with secure erase and slow file transfer speeds, but with WD I have no problems.
