After 3 years of professional use, I present the following. The machine is incredibly powerful and amazing in battery life. It cuts very deep and well. Especially for outlines and beards with zero, it leaves nothing. However, the company needs to consider the following. I changed the blade after 2 years; it didn't cut like the factory one. I don't know why. I got a second one, the same issue. I repeat, it cut, but not like the one that came with it. Also, it is inconceivable that the material of this blade, I mean the metal, can injure the customer. A brand new blade was scratching the neck. Behind the ears, it cut to the point of bleeding. I have a Moser T-Cut, also a metal blade. If the Babyliss breaks, I will get another Moser. It doesn't cut as deep, but it's better than injuring the customer. I find it unacceptable at 150 euros for the machine and about 40 for the blade.
Strong, sturdy construction, cuts very close to the hair and with precision, but I believe something needs to be done with its blades. Everything that the company offers wears out very quickly, so I don't know how much it's worth. Also, it has issues with the on-off switch which delays to respond at first.
I wonder why this machine has 5 stars... from the first day I got it, it hurts my skin when I bring it close to me, it pulls out hairs and makes them bleed... it pulls them... I raised the cutting part higher so that the fixed teeth wouldn't pull them, but it was worse because it kept pinching the skin... such a shame, such a waste, and I still owe money for it... From the first moment you hold the machine in your hands, you feel the sturdiness of its construction. With the adjustment on the blade, it cuts perfectly. It is important, as the manufacturer specifies, to perform proper lubrication and cleaning. It is worth its money.
First of all, I have to say that I bought this particular model for 125 euros including shipping. Not from Scroutz. There are branded stores that sell it noticeably cheaper and you don't risk your money. I believe that there should not be shipping costs for such a high-value purchase, but that is Scroutz's policy. Let's move on. The blade is incredible. I had bought another model from Babyliss when I should have bought this one. I saved 30 euros. My foolishness, but that's how it is. You learn. The blade cuts relentlessly. I have it for amateur use. There is no need for anyone to zero gap it because it comes and cuts perfectly with the existing adjustment. Whoever wants to experiment can do it, but I don't see the reason. The head does not detach. The blades can be removed with a screwdriver that is included in the package, but I recommend using a screwdriver. It is durable, you charge it once in a while, and be careful with the blade, it's another thing. Of course, I will come back after using it and reevaluate. For now, I think it is very good value for money at the price I bought it. Very sturdy construction. Don't throw away 80 and 100 euros when you can get this beast. You feel like you're holding a tool, not nonsense. I was impressed. You can shave your head very comfortably.
Edit: After several uses, what I have written still holds true. An incredible machine, it's done and dusted. It doesn't get stuck anywhere. Imagine, I haven't even recharged it yet and I use it every 5-6 days for shaving, etc. Finally, I found my peace after so many years.
Guys, professional use for two years now, it is incredible but it cuts so strongly that it causes injuries, it is a general phenomenon.
Buy nice or buy twice as the English say.. It costs 150€ but the machine cuts like a hedge trimmer for bushes. Comfortable to hold. It cuts with exceptional precision and ease.
It has almost zero cutting depth out of the box, although you will find an accessory in the extras to bring the trimmer blade to an even more zero gap condition. Unfortunately, however, it's not all positive. In my experience, it doesn't give a clean cut without the blade "heating up" and personally, for 150€, I consider it a total fail. It's worth noting that it can tolerate the temperature it reaches and overall you can continue cutting, but regardless, it's not justified.
Five stars and then some. I went to this beast, after years of using cheap machines that tired me out when shaving my head. From the first use, I understood the huge differences, because many times you get what you pay for and here it fits like a glove.
Quality and sturdy construction, a beast of a battery, at least 2.5 hours with one charge, a monster motor, and a beautiful Ferrari design.
Just be careful, make sure to do a proper zero gap if you want it for a bald look, like me. It cuts like a machete and the black blades should never exceed the gold ones. They should be in the same straight line or slightly below. I didn't pay attention during my first haircut and the machine made me bald in an uneven way.
Get it, if you have the money, without hesitation!
In the 6-month period with private use > only for the lines on the beard < and with proper maintenance (according to the manufacturer's instructions) it stopped working.
I contacted the store where I bought it and I am waiting to see what solution will be found. Now, if it was an isolated incident, fine, but if it is due to poor quality construction in a professional machine with 5 minutes of use every 3 days.. it's unjustifiable. I will come back with an update and evaluation soon.. :\
Maybe it's my own machine's fault that it didn't turn out well. Anyway, I press the button and it takes a while to start working. Also, there's so much hype about Ferrari and they haven't put a mark.
I have had in my hands the Wahl detailer, wella contura, Panasonic gp andis T, all powerful tools. But this one has no rival really. Very powerful motor, beautiful appearance, easy zero gap, exposed blade for cleaning and cooling, what can I say, amazing. It shaves bald and trims mustache hair perfectly. Even for amateurs, with 150€ you get a machine for 20 years. Really! The design by Ferrari or Babyliss revolutionized trimmers.
