Beautiful, it would be 5 stars if you could read the time in low light without needing to use its own illumination. The negative screen is only good for bright lighting, otherwise you need to turn on its illumination to read.
As a fan of "square" G-Shock watches, I had my eye on this particular watch for quite some time. However, I thought that its price was a bit high despite its wonderful appearance. Essentially, it is a DW-5600E with a negative display and a metallic, glossy bezel. When I found it at a great discount, I didn't hesitate, as it is the only metallic "square" watch I would have. I will describe in simple words the feeling of seeing it up close: The photo does not do it justice. It is perfectly glossy (often filling with fingerprints), like a mirror. It is different, impressive, it "shouts" and doesn't look like anything else, the way the metal meets the black display and visually matches the black silicone strap. It is a wonderful accessory that may be worn in places where other G-Shock watches don't fit. It has all the features and functions of the "humble" and beloved DW-5600E, except for one: To see the time, you need to be in a well-lit area. I never liked negative displays for this reason. Here, I made a unique exception, for the sake of appearance. So, if you have other watches or if you are a fan of classic G-Shock watches and want to have some moments where all eyes are on... your wrist, buy it. If you are thinking of it as your everyday watch, you will find other G-Shock watches (even better with a rechargeable Solar battery) that will serve this purpose better and for less money.
Very impressive, as for beautiful I don't know, it's relative and depends on everyone's taste. However, it definitely impresses. Although its design is similar to the 5600, it doesn't directly resemble the classic G-shock, maybe because of the metallic flat bezel on the top and the noticeably more refined rubber strap compared to the others in the 5600 series. Visually, up close it deceives, it appears much more valuable than it actually is. Aesthetically, it resembles more of a Hamilton type rather than a Casio... (we said it resembles, not that it is!!) In the photos from the internet, it loses a lot. I don't know what alloy the Japanese used to make it, but despite being full metal, it weighs only 73gr without being lightweight. This is good for some and not for others... relative. Other than that, it's a beast, 20-bar water resistance, durability against impacts, the glass is indestructible... crystal with hardening that requires a lot of skill to engrave and not acrylic, the mechanism doesn't lose a second, etc. The philosophy remains the same since 1983. Due to its size, it requires a male wrist with a medium diameter and above, otherwise, it looks awkward, like all big watches on thin wrists. Good as a gift... if you have the money...
the legendary 5600 but METAL as it deserves
