This book is a collection of personal experiential narratives on the subject of the Polytechnic Uprising (November 14-18, 1973). It consists of eighty-four transcribed texts of oral testimonies-interviews with an equal number of narrators, conducted from late 2010 until the fall of 2019. It is a systematic study of oral history based on multiple criteria of representativeness regarding participation in the events, comprising testimonies from women and men, female and male students, trade unionists of the anti-dictatorial student movement, members of illegal organizations, pupils, workers, demonstrators injured by bullets, eyewitnesses, and military personnel. The main aim of the book is to serve as a body of information that will fill some of the research gaps surrounding the Polytechnic Uprising, while also contributing to the preservation of the memory of one of the most iconic events in modern Greek history, which continues to be the subject of intense emotions and is subject to various distortions and diverse revisions.
