Description

The book - cd "O lele / O lele" is perhaps the first worldwide project for the recording of melodic poetry in Vlach language.

These are poems by Professor of Social Folklore at the Department of History and Archaeology of the University of Ioannina, Vasilis Nitsiakos, which were written with the purpose of being set to music and, therefore, the effort could also be considered lyrical.

The lyrics were originally written in Vlach language, which happens to be the native language - along with Greek - of their creator, for whom this edition is a deposit of soul and identity at the same time.

The general music supervision is by composer Soulios Liakos, who has composed eight of the ten songs in the edition. Also, Makis Seviloglou participates compositionally with two songs. Singers are Soulios Liakos, Makis Seviloglou, Maria Dafka, Pleiades. Second voices are performed by Nikos Ziogalas. Special participation is made by the female polyphonic ensemble "Pleiades".

The edition of the luxury book + cd is accompanied by literary and poetic texts that help in the perception of music as well as by paintings with a similar role. All texts, except for the Vlach, are translated into Greek and English. The translation of the texts into Vlach language was done by Fanis Dasoulas, into English by Joshua Barley, while the overall linguistic supervision, regarding the Vlach language, was done by Stamatis Beis. The Painting and Designs were made by Antonis Faridis.
