Good jigsaw, suitable only for metal. Wide cutting range, minimal vibration, lubrication is prohibited during cutting, relatively fast, extremely safe, precision in cuts and at 45°. LED to see how it cuts with a switch. Long cable, sturdy construction both in the base and the tool. I only have one doubt about the quality of the blade and how long it will last. Of course, I also made the mistake of cutting with lubricant. For now, very good, if I see something else, I will come back.
Good bandsaw, as others say, only for metal and without lubricant. It doesn't need much pressure to cut, it goes on its own, with its weight. The LED is great, it's like a flashlight, not like other dim ones. For its price, it's perfect.
P.S.: After a long period of use and changing 3-4 bands, I agree with the other friends, the guides are terrible and it constantly cuts the band. Choose something else.
Good morning, coming from cuts with a circular saw with an alternating disc like the wheel and trying the band saw, I was thrilled, very good cuts easy and clean without needing sharpening afterwards for the application. The cuts are all in pipe shape up to 3 millimeters thick metal. When I experimentally tried to cut a construction iron, the band saw said the poem before it even made a 4-5 millimeter cut and it was replaced. The cuts it makes are correct, precise, and clean with much less noise, less dirt, and less work since they are clean and do not need sharpening and with less power. I did not have the issues that others who bought it mention, breaking bands every now and then or crooked cuts; the calibration in degrees is not that precise and you need to make your own marks after measuring the angles. But after 3.5 months it jammed and stopped working, the company after an inspection said it cannot be repaired and is sending me a new one. The treatment from the representative was friendly, not quick as it took them 15 days to check it explaining each time the workload, in another case where I needed service from the same company for a plasma cutter, in 4 days the plasma cutter had gone from Thessaloniki to Athens, was repaired, and returned. So, 2 stars because the machine I had while it made very good cuts and with precision and the representative replaced the machine as soon as they checked it, jammed/burned after 3.5 months (unacceptable) without having worked much since the use is amateur. And one more star awaiting the replacement band saw to see how long it will last and how it will function because luck is also a factor; I might have been unlucky and the machine broke although I see that others who commented also had it jam/burn
I read the reviews and I realize that it works well for some people and presents a problem for others. It's logical for me to be in the second category (my luck). While it makes almost perfect cuts, it breaks the ribbon very easily and quickly. I have broken four so far. The first one, which came with the jigsaw, made about 150 cuts on metals of different thicknesses, the 2nd and 3rd broke after about 50 cuts, and the 4th broke after 35 cuts (exactly) and even while it was in the air and not cutting at that moment. I'm trying to understand the mistake but I can't find anything wrong with the machine, the rollers are not loose, it doesn't throw the ribbon, it just breaks it at some point without warning. And as I knew from the beginning, I don't use force during cutting. So it's 50-50. If someone asks me, I will tell them what I wrote above. If they ask for my opinion to buy it, I will say NO. It's a shame because I really liked the cuts it made.
After 2 years of use, I have to say that the tool is very good. As soon as I got it, I changed the ribbon to a higher quality one, marked the angles exactly with a carving for 90 and 45 degrees, and since then I have been cutting almost professionally. I have cut tons of iron, it doesn't require pressure (like any ribbon doesn't), just the weight of it plus a little push. For better and more comfortable cuts, I recommend using cutting paste with a brush. I've read about drums and bearings, but everything turns smoothly for me. I lubricate the motor once a week and it works non-stop. Very good purchase (a piece of advice for cuts is to always position it from the flat side. It grips better and cuts vertically. For example, a blade of 50x5, the ribbon should cut at 50 and not at 5. This also applies to professional ones)
In a year and a half of ownership of the ribbon cutter. Amateur use. I changed 5 blades. And today the motor emitted smoke...
In terms of its cuts, it is good for now, if you hit the angles exactly!!!
Honest tool for its price always.
For amateurs like myself, it does the job. I use it at level 3 so the motor doesn't overheat and neither does the blade, and it hasn't broken on me.
It cuts completely vertically in all angles.
It lacks in its base, obviously to lower the price.
And what I read about the drums, it doesn't do anything for me. It slightly hits in one spot where the blade is joined and welded, and one tooth is missing. That's it. The tool itself is not the issue, it's a blade issue.
I got my hands on another tool worth 700€, very sturdy and enviable tool, slightly used. The results were disappointing and I couldn't believe it. Anyway, for amateur use, it's very good.
P.S.
After changing the blade (without any damage to the original one), I simply replaced it with a higher quality one and after several cuts at an amateur level, I can confirm my initial opinion. Yes, I don't encounter any issues with the tool.
Nice and vertical cuts that make it easier for me and make me enjoy my hobby.
Completely useless. It turns off-center, causing the ribbon to break constantly. Even if it cost 100€, I wouldn't buy it again.
Update: I sent it back for a replacement after spending 90€ on ribbons so far. I tried ribbons from other manufacturers, more reinforced and suitable for separate tasks (flat and solid), and still the same issue. After three or four cuts, the blade would break because the machine's drums turn off-center. The service doesn't seem to understand this. After two weeks, they sent it back to me (supposedly repaired). Without any inspection, I received the exact same tool with the exact same problem. Unacceptable. If half of the tools you sell are correct and the other half are completely useless, at least as you should, there should be a replacement with one that works properly. Personally, I will never choose Yato again, not even a screwdriver.
It does its job decently. A portable small bandsaw to cut what you want in construction cleanly and accurately. You shouldn't force it to cut faster because it damages the blade guides. It's difficult to achieve precise angles on the table (I have made my own markings). I don't use solid wood, only heavy-duty metal and the few times I needed it for attics and rafters. I align the bars with wooden blocks, both the stationary piece and the piece to be cut, without forcing it to cut faster, and the cuts come out clean and precise. It has been convenient for me and I have "eliminated" the disc.
Honestly, it is very overrated and not worth it. The blades are very dull and as they work, they wear out quickly and constantly break the ribbon. It is not worth even half of its price. It cuts at the wrong angles and throws you off in the application of the cuts. Don't be fooled by the ribbon's glorification from some channels on YouTube, they are advertising it. Google it and you will find that others who bought it have the same problems and even more. P.S: The machine's courier service for repairs (which did NOTHING) cost me another bandsaw blade
I would simply describe Yato's jigsaw as good and in no way "professional". It does the job it promises, relatively quietly and cleanly, but it does not have the quality construction I expected. The drums that hold the blade turn off-center, causing it to "kick" with each turn, which does not bode well for the longevity of the saw blade. Mine may have been defective, although I noticed that I am not the only one experiencing this particular problem. So far, I have only used it with heavy-duty straight-cut blades (2mm thickness), and within a month, the problem has worsened considerably. Another negative aspect I noticed is that the degree adjustment is not very clear. It can cut with great precision, but it requires a lot of trial and error to find the right setting. I would recommend it for someone who wants precise cuts without the dirt and noise created by a disc, but only if they cannot invest in something more expensive and of higher quality.
The tool is the best in its category, it is fantastic for amateur use, it is perfect, I am extremely satisfied, it is worth its money!! I have been using it for 5 years for fences and it has not had any issues!! If it had 10 stars, I would give it without a second thought.
I had a branded circular saw and I gave it away. I bought this tool and I saved myself. I have had it in my possession for quite some time. Straight cut without noise and less power. For now, I am completely satisfied.!!!!
The worst thing I have ever bought. I cut stainless steel with a thickness of 1.5mm. Every 10 cuts, the blade breaks. So, when the blade remembers, it comes out of its position and clashes against the body of the machine, it gets stuck and breaks. The drums rotate off-center and the blade goes left and right, maybe that's why it comes out of its position. The service is a complete disappointment. I took it as I brought it, with the cable exactly as I left it. Now I bought it again and the supplier says I have to go to the service to supervise it and then they will tell me what they will do, whether they will fix it or replace it! Meanwhile, I don't have a machine to cut with and I have spent an extra 50 euros on blades that got cut and now I don't have a blade or a machine. Really, stay away. Get a better circular saw with a carbide disc to do your job, guys. Far away, and far away again!
I have been searching for a good bandsaw for a long time, and of course, for metal and aluminum. The cutting is very good with a wide range and without any effort. The LED lighting switch is very convenient, with a long cable and a sturdy construction. I am very satisfied with the money I spent...!!!!
