It has accuracy and very good...!!! Just so you know, if the fever is high, there is a possibility that the measurement on the forehead, due to sweating, may be lower. So you can take a measurement in the ear... In 5 years, we changed the battery once (prefer branded ones because the "Chinese" ones don't last long). If I have one complaint, it is that it requires a steady hand for 3-5 seconds at a close distance, but I appreciate the ability to measure while you're sleeping, which is very convenient.

Tragic product.
To give 40 euros and get whatever temperature.
I had a cold and measured myself with a mercury thermometer and it showed 37.5, and with this one it showed 36.7.
Stay away, especially if you want it for a child, it is dangerous because it may have a fever and not show it to you.

The reason why I am writing this review is because I saw ALL, I mean ALL, of the previous ones to be extremely negative.
I have been using this product for 5 years now, on both of my children, aged 5 and 3.
I agree that the measurements it takes on the skin, for example on the forehead, are not reliable because the temperature on our skin is approximately 1-2 degrees lower than the actual temperature.
HOWEVER, if you take the measurement by touching the thermometer to your child's ear, aiming towards the outer ear canal (aiming inside the ear canal), the measurement is MORE THAN ACCURATE!!!!
I have no vested interest, I just wanted to warn some people who might consider throwing away such a good tool. It would be a shame, really.

What everyone else who bought it said, unreliable 100%! With new batteries with old ... Stay away from the product.

Every time the measurement was below 35 and I changed the battery twice and still the same.....simply unacceptable!!!!!

The most inaccurate thermometer that exists. Its measurements are inaccurate every time, no relation to the child's temperature. One minute it can show 36.6 and in a minute 39.9. Money wasted. It's a shame for Chicco because I am very satisfied with their other products.

Unacceptable product, seriously don't buy it... it never measures correctly. At the same time, first measurement is 36 and second is 39.8.

Inaccurate and slow!
It takes too long to take the measurement and has significant deviations in the measurements at the same time.
The product needs improvement and is not worth its money.
