Did you find this review helpful?After a long trip I took after buying it, I tried it in many situations. It's a fantastic camera. It does its job very well. Video quality is excellent, you just need a screen that supports, for example, 4k resolution because otherwise it will look like it's shooting video with a €150 mobile phone. Absolutely not! With video at 1080 50fps and moderate zoom at wide angle, you will think you're watching a movie without exaggeration! I tried it in the river of Acheron and the underwater videos I've taken, I watch them over and over again and I say, is it possible?!?! Amazing quality despite its size. Also, don't expect much from night shots in video, it will disappoint you if the place is not at least a little bright. In photos, it's different at night, as on the screen you think the display is messed up! but if you look at the photo afterwards, you will understand the difference. Quite good photos with excellent image quality. Unfortunately, the battery is a bit disappointing if you use it all day. Constantly, about 1 hour with difficulty. I continuously recorded 31' of video at 1080 and the battery went from 40% to 5%. A decent ratio, if I did it with 100%, it might last 1 hour and 10 minutes. Also, you can do the other thing, remove the side cover (a little risky because without it, it's not fully waterproof) and use a power bank to charge it while using it normally. I put it in underwater shooting without a case at a depth of half a meter and NOT in saltwater. And of course, I blew it from the speaker and microphone below so that no water remains. In the sea, definitely use a waterproof case. Although it is moisture resistant up to 10m!! if I'm not mistaken, but we don't mess with saltwater. Also, if you want longer battery life, there is a €30 option that adds about 30 minutes of time. I'm really excited about the features, as well as the quality, and very satisfied. Purchased on 21/7/21 for €305 from a store.

Impressive size and weight for its capabilities. Easy to use, but the touch screen may be a bit difficult for those with larger fingers (better to set up from the mobile). The battery is the Achilles' heel, a necessary compromise for the final result. The image quality is stunning. Stabilization is even more impressive, I don't think there is anything better (and without a gimbal). The sound is better than expected. The built-in GPS has very good sensitivity, providing data for impressive telemetry (which requires skills to handle, as the GoPro software has been discontinued and does not support the latest firmware).
There are many settings (with the impressive absence of a timer for delayed shooting, e.g. 3 seconds), and initially, research on the web is needed to understand their function. Specifically, it must be understood what you gain from each setting, but mainly what you lose. Everything comes at a price and it is not simply a matter of "more is better". Setting everything to full will result in problematic video, overheating, huge files, etc. At this point, I should note that a fast card, such as the SanDisk Pro, is considered necessary.
Also, a GoPro without Mods is like a sea without salt. Calculate that in your budget, otherwise, your shots will not represent the camera's level.
In summary, we can definitely say that we are talking about unparalleled image and construction quality. Its main drawback is the limited autonomy, which may push some to purchase additional batteries. Issues regarding software problems, overheating, etc. are the result of non-recommended use (i.e. setting everything to full). Lastly, the absence of bundle software for PC and the company's exclusive focus on mobile apps and streaming services.

1) Battery. A big problem even for a simple user who wants to record something simple. Especially if you turn on the GPS to have data at a sports level, the use of a second battery is necessary.
2) Its operating system, although very simple and easy to use, froze on its second day of operation and the battery had to be removed to recover. Generally, there is instability. What a pity.
3) For action shots, the built-in mount is not stable, resulting in the camera shaking a lot, regardless of the stabilizer it has. So calculate about 45€ for the classic housing, which was not available in Greece and was purchased from the official Gopro site (exactly one week delivery) with free shipping.
4) Night shots, as expected, do not perform very well, but it's not a big issue since if you want to shoot at night, you need a good little camera.
Overall, the purchase is worth it, but look for a good price before proceeding with the purchase!

I didn't need anything more but.... it had many software problems and the battery didn't last long.... they replaced it and I sold it.... I mean freezing.... it wouldn't open... it wouldn't close.... from 90% battery it would drop to 0% without even turning it on within a few hours, the screen would freeze.... and you had to remove the battery to reset it and all this with the latest update.... they replaced it twice and still the same.... until the third replacement I didn't do the update.... it only had one manageable problem left... what? when you remove the battery and put it back in and press quick capture instead of starting a video it starts taking photos... this only happens the first time.
As good as the stabilizer is, the battery is so bad! You can have a second one but when you're in the sea and doing water sports, changing the battery is a risk or the simplest... when it's raining. The settings are very easy and useful!
Such an expensive camera shouldn't have any software issues. In general, the company has issues and as long as there is no worthy competitor, we will suffer.
Some people say they are not satisfied with the night shots! I would tell them that the camera is aimed at amateurs and not at Paramount Pictures. The price is only about 350 euros! I would also tell them to first read the user manual which refers to low light and frames! Personally, the camera fully covers me in low light conditions with its quality!
Overheating! The camera is an action camera which means you are outdoors, you have speed, because it's POV, and therefore its temperature drops and the action doesn't last as long as a wedding or a baptism! Therefore, the camera for the purpose it is intended for does not overheat!
In the end, my opinion is that whoever is going to buy it for fun better leave it.... whoever wants to capture unique moments of adventure, I recommend taking the risk and buying it. The replacement directly with the company abroad is very easy, as for the dealership in Greece, it is simply unacceptable, especially with the current dealership and I mention this from experience!

On its own, it does not fully unfold its capabilities. If someone wants to take full advantage of it, they need accessories that involve additional cost. The accessories that I suggest someone should definitely have are:1. A quality lens protection glass because it does not have a detachable viewfinder like previous models. I eventually removed the screen protector because it lost sensitivity to touch and it took me longer to make the settings I wanted.
2. At least one stick of good quality that does not slip with sweat in combination with vibrations and you do not have to worry about it getting sand in it and damaging it if you go to the beach.
3. Carrying case, for protection.In addition, many more accessories can be suggested that you will find on many pages and channels with relevant instructions and I do not want to elaborate. I have bought several and I plan to buy more if needed in the coming months.
For a month now that I have been using it, I have been very satisfied with the videos and the capabilities that this small device offers. You need to learn it at first, the menu is easy and it has many options for later editing for better quality videos. In mountain and trail running with intense vibrations, in the sea not in deep water, and in the car, with always appropriate handling, I took very good quality videos that impressed me.
The most powerful stabilization (boost) seemed somewhat fake to me. Specifically, during running, it had a steady image but when the hand made a slightly more intense movement, it showed that the camera made an awkward (but not abrupt) movement which immediately after a while it brought it back in an awkward way, returning to its previous direction. This does not mean that it is rejected as an option, I just emphasize that it is not necessary in all activities to always choose the strongest stabilization, it requires many trials and depending on the situation, the owner should choose the appropriate setting.
I did a few tests with photos, which are satisfactory in good lighting conditions, but I do not prefer it compared to the mirrorless camera I have or the phone. So, most likely, the photos will be used only when the conditions are such that I cannot use my regular camera.

Did you find this review helpful?I would give it 5 stars if it used the same batteries as Hero 5/6/7 without any issues. I would like to be able to connect a mic adapter without the fear of the battery running out, and I would like it to have better resolution in photos!
