I have had more expensive models of philishave in the past with 3 heads and I can compare. This one is very lightweight and doesn't catch your eye, it has a feeling like a toy that runs out of battery.
Surprisingly, it shaves just as effectively (but not as quickly) as the more expensive models I had in the past.
With circular motions and light pressure:
- It easily shaves fresh beards deeply.
- For beards longer than half an inch, it requires a quick trim first. It comes with a trimmer, so no problem there.
- It can also be used for the body, but not for the sensitive male area because it requires stretched skin.
- If you haven't used an electric shaver in the past, there is a chance it may cause irritation for the first shaves, but your skin will get used to it and it won't irritate you again. All electric shavers have this issue.
- Although the machine is waterproof, Philips recommends not using it in the shower. I imagine it won't perform well on wet surfaces.
- Since it doesn't come with a charging base, but with a long cord, you can use it while it charges, which I suppose helps with battery life.
- Knowing that Philips doesn't put good batteries in its cheap models, I imagine the battery life will be around 3 years. However, it lasts for days, and you can also shave while it charges with the long cord it comes with.

In conclusion, it is a value for money proposition for everyday shaving. If you don't shave daily and are in a hurry, it's better to use a razor. This particular machine is value for money for face+body, but its drawback is that it takes its time to give you a baby face.

I bought this machine during black friday for 52 euros and after reading the positive reviews. Unfortunately, this machine is a complete disappointment! Very low speeds with battery use, it "pulls" the hair to cut it, causing irritation. With the use of electricity, the situation improves slightly but the problem remains.

I bought it because my job requires me to be shaved and my old razor took 20 minutes to shave... relatively satisfactory.
