After 3 years, I can say that they work without the slightest interruption or disconnection. Easy connection and with the second kit I share internet without any problem, throughout the house
Perhaps the worst WiFi product I have ever bought.
From what it seems, if you do a firmware update (something the app tells you to do as soon as you download it), the main Deco bricks. It lights up a steady yellow light and the only way is to set a Static IP and do a firmware update with an Ethernet cable.
I understand those who just went for the plug and play, but it is UNACCEPTABLE to sell a device that ultimately becomes useless due to the app itself.
If you search a bit on the internet, you will find others with the same problem who returned it to their supplier.
I liked that it has good range and is very easy to install. I didn't like that you can't make any adjustments you want, for example, change the subnet.
I came from the powerlink of devolo. Huge difference. One deco is in the living room next to the router and the other is in a different room where my desktop is located. The second deco is inside my office where I have connected an ethernet cable that goes directly to the PC. When I was on the powerlink, I was getting 50mbps (having a 300 line), but on the tp-link mesh, I get 310 mbps with no loss at all.
I left powerline because it was 100 Mbps and decided to choose this one! Stable in performance, speed as promised! Very easy connectivity! And most importantly, it doesn't occupy a wall socket like powerline and also provides UTP for a stable PC!
Disappointing performance. In no case did it manage to reach high speeds as promised. With LAN speed of 200 Mbps, it gets about 50 Mbps even next to the DECO that is connected to the router via cable.
Until about two years, they work excellently, with good connectivity, high speeds, and stability. Unfortunately, after that, frequent disconnection and communication problems begin. Any attempt at restoration (software upgrade, reset, shut down, interference protection) has failed. Furthermore, the distance between them is severely affected by walls and especially concrete slabs: for example, with one wall and one slab in between, there is practically no communication! The main DECO, which is - necessarily - connected wired to the router, provides a weaker wifi signal than the simple router. It's better to spend more money on something of higher quality.
I have no words, dozens of students in a tutoring center connect-disconnect daily and anonymously among themselves without problems, without interruptions and the need for restarts. You forget that you have it. Ideal for professional spaces offices-classrooms.
It saved me. Since I installed it, I have better signal and it has never disconnected. It also provides security to the network. When someone tries to connect, it notifies you and gives you the option to accept or deny them.
very easy connection both on the router and with the mobile after I downloaded the corresponding app! I will definitely get a second unit at some point!
Excellent performance, great coverage range, with the router in the basement the 200 Mbps connection is truly 200 Mbps up to three floors above (three wireless repeaters).
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
The initial bad impression is solely due to the AWFUL "TP-LINK Archer T3U v1" wifi adapter from the same company, which I recommend avoiding if you are considering it as an option and which has gone to meet oblivion.
Amazing work and amazing speed with the Deco. The TP LINK app is ridiculously easy. Years of trying with extenders in a very large house with various floors and many walls without results. If you are considering this purchase, it would be good to look at the X10 or XE75 (if you have the budget) which are better with coverage over a greater distance and speed. The situation with access points has improved a lot and it is now a one-way street.
*The Deco M4 do not have the ability to transfer the Internet from one to another when the main Deco is too far away.
That's why I made the comment above that it's worth moving towards X10 or XE75.
I mention this because I somewhat fell for it myself but managed to place them in spots that created a complete network.
If it had more and better configuration options for the two networks it supports, it would be top-notch. For those looking for something plug-n-play, it might be the ideal solution. With 2, I have covered an apartment.
200 Mbps fiber line, router in the bedroom, house 90m. I had a TP-Link powerline with Wi-Fi and in the living room I was getting about 50. I decided to try the M4 and now I get 110-120. It's a significant improvement although I expected more. Also, they are very affected by intermediate "obstacles." Even a small picture frame or a pencil holder in front of them causes an immediate drop. So be careful to have space around them.
The installation is easy through the app, but at first, because I had high expectations (they claim to cover 260m house), I had the second one far away and it couldn't find it at all. I would give it 3.5 stars. I don't know if the P9s that combine mesh with powerline would be better.
Easy to connect. You can set it up as both a router and an access point/switch. I expected a slightly better range since I have one in my bedroom, there is a wall in between, and the other one is in the living room, and it shows that they are communicating with a low signal. Nevertheless, I have a fast connection on my devices and it doesn't cause me any issues. The app is very nice and guides you for easy installation. Of course, this is the first mesh system I am installing in my house, so I don't have a good point of comparison. If I encounter any issues, I will follow up.
I have the TP-LINK Deco M4 v3 for 3 months now and I am very satisfied. It has definitively solved the problem of unstable Wi-Fi in my home. Now I have a strong signal in every corner, even in the most remote areas.
The installation was very simple, thanks to the mobile app. The coverage is excellent and I no longer experience disconnections or delays. I am particularly impressed by the speed, especially on devices that support 5GHz.
GREAT ATTENTION:
Although TpLink claims that the Mesh function through these devices operates in a series (one device connects to another), in reality, all devices connect ONLY to the central one (which means it does not serve its purpose).
Other models from this company have received updates for manual connection of each device to its nearest one, but the M4 does NOT support this function
The best solution..in a house of 250 sqm I have almost no losses anywhere and the most important thing is that it automatically changes kit without losing signal on the phone.
Whoever is wondering whether to get power-line or this, should get this deco. I had also bought the powerline from devolo and I was getting 100mbps on a 300mb fiber line. With this deco, I am saved. I have no loss in speed, I get 300 and more. I have connected the 2nd deco directly via ethernet to my desktop.
Due to my duplex, I have a problem with the internet. It is the best repeater I have found and it does its job quite well. Compared to others in its category, it may be a little more expensive but it is worth its money!
I have it for about a month. It works perfectly with minimal losses. With a speed of 200 Mbs, it reaches 150 in the most difficult point of the house while before with powerline it reached 30...! I highly recommend it.
It is the 3rd one I am getting. I already have 2 that I bought as a set. It covers the whole house and the basement, without any interruptions or decrease in speed. With the mobile app, I can see at any moment who is connected to my network, even if I am not at home
I won't go into details, but I've been using it for a year now, and I have found my peace with the internet and the extension of its signal!! I bought 5, one for each house. Just a very good product and very practical - user-friendly for 50 euros!
