The great interest in interpreting economic phenomena stems from the close relationship that the economy has with the improvement of social welfare. The way in which economic science tries to organize the world it examines has always been a point of intense disagreement and criticism.

On one side are those who believe that the economy uses a standardized mathematical method that does not fit the social sciences, as it deprives the analysis of the comprehensive and holistic understanding that social sciences should have.

On the other side are the proponents of mathematization and technical analysis. The economy must clearly perceive and precisely define the subject under examination, so that it does not leave room for misinterpretations related to its theoretical models and can measure the strength of its propositions.

Overall, the way economic science interprets the economic world must be technical, not as an end in itself, but as a means. The inability to synthesize the proposals of economic policy with those of political science likely deprives the former of its ability to understand the world it seeks to interpret.
