It connects tightly and securely to the Type-C port of the Macbook. USB sticks and devices connected with an HDMI cable, such as projectors/TVs, are immediately recognized by the Mac. The price is high compared to similar dock stations from other manufacturers.

I have tried 3 other non-apple HDMI to type-c adaptors... one burned, the other didn't wake up the second screen... the third one was unstable... I gave up and bought an apple one and it works as it should.. Unfortunately, for those of us in the apple ecosystem, we have to decide that along with apple products come expensive peripherals.

Excellent adapter but excessively expensive. I got it to have peace of mind with charging after the problems I faced with burnt motherboards on M1 MacBooks. Apple fixed it with an OS update, but when I got it, I didn't have any other alternative to have peace of mind. Also, it's very positive that it outputs 4K @60 Hz on HDMI, which most branded or unbranded ones don't.

Also, one negative is that the USB-A is very tight.

Overall, it's a good but overpriced product.

It broke in the first month of operation. The warranty covers it, but I was left without a screen until I found time to go to an authorized store, have it checked and replaced.

Proper connection, disconnection, without disconnecting, many of the tested other companies, more expensive, raised temperature, oh Apple with your pull-ups.... just make sure it's genuine
