  Overall, a very good sturdy boot with all the technology on it.... I switched to these after 20 years (that's how long they lasted) Salomon quest 4D2gtx.
  It is a bit narrower (thankfully they also make half sizes) and has a slightly stiffer sole, resulting in it slipping quite a bit more than the Salomon on wet terrain... it hugs the ankle quite well. I will return with further comments in a few months.

  The Salewa MTN Trainer Mid GTX are some of the best men's hiking boots I have tried. The first thing that stands out is their excellent build quality, with the Gore-Tex membrane providing complete waterproofing, keeping my feet dry even in the wettest conditions. Their fit is impeccable, thanks to the 3F system that provides ankle stability without restricting flexibility. The Vibram sole offers amazing grip on all terrains, whether it’s rocky trails or mud, while the midsole absorbs shocks exceptionally, reducing fatigue in the feet. Additionally, they are quite lightweight for hiking boots, making them ideal for long treks. The only thing one needs to be careful about is choosing the right size, as their fit is slightly narrow. Overall, they are a top choice for any hiking and mountaineering enthusiast who wants comfort, protection, and reliability on their journeys.

  Guys, I am not very satisfied with the boot. Although it is great in terms of construction and grips well on wet mud, snow, rocks, and even asphalt, it has a huge negative aspect. The part of the shoe that resembles Alcantara gets wet and the foot gets soaked. I have a big problem because after 20 minutes in very wet areas where the foot goes 5 to 10 centimeters into the water, the sock starts getting wet and the foot freezes. I have tried it in many areas and the same problem occurs. Even when I clean them with water afterwards, they still get wet. It's not an issue with droplets, in fact, they slide easily. The problem is with water that remains in contact for a long time or with water that is pressed from the sponge when cleaning. Even if you rub them with your hands in a river to remove the mud, you still feel the sock getting wet. I can say that I am disappointed because it is amazing as a boot in wet conditions, but the waterproofing fails easily. I will try to solve the problem with a spray to see if it helps a bit and improves the situation. I want to point out that during the bending of the heel (at the end of each step where the heel bends), it has the biggest issue and you feel the water in the sock, as I mentioned before (I will also try changing the sock). I would give it 3 stars, but I bought this specifically for wet technical and non-technical areas (mud, wet rocks, snow, small streams), but the issue with waterproofing has bothered me a lot. The boot is great otherwise and has good grip on wet surfaces.

  I have been hiking for 50 years and these boots are simply excellent. I wore them for 4 consecutive days in Crete, 3 days in Olympus, 2 days in Erymanthos, and 2 days in Tymfi during the same period and they didn't bother me at all (choose the right size and proper socks)

  The shoe is not suitable for long walks. It has good grip on slopes and inclines. In wet conditions, on stone or tiles, it is extremely dangerous. There is no thermal insulation, and the foot freezes as if you're not wearing a shoe. I only recommend it for specific ascents and descents, it looks very nice on the foot.

  Awesome grip, ankle very stable. Used for hiking in Mount Olympus, we walked 40 km in 2 days without any discomfort at all. It saved my ankle from injury twice. Hasn't been tested in water yet, but I expect the best from this company. It was perfect for climbing to Mytikas. It didn't slip anywhere, not even on the steep parts of the trail. I highly recommend them. And a 1-year warranty

  Attention guys, be careful with this specific shoe, I bought it because it was supposed to be waterproof... The shoe is NOT waterproof, not comfortable at all, as if you wear it for three hours, your heels will be destroyed. I even added additional orthopedic insoles and still nothing. In short, it's a failure, I had them for about three weeks and I gave up on them. Don't waste your money.

  Excellent boots.
  I wear them 2-3 days a week on plains and mountains for at least 8 hours.
  The only negative is that they slip dangerously on wet smooth surfaces (e.g. smooth rocks or tiles) but it doesn't bother me because I rarely use them in rain or water in general.
