Description
In the book, an eight-day journey is described following the route of E4 from Agrafa to Delphi. This section of E4 crosses one of the most important areas of central Greece, with impressive geography and a unique variety: mountains, rivers, forests, as well as rich fauna and flora with rare species. A region of exceptional beauty, villages with rich tradition and history; but also an ideal route for hikers and mountaineers, who seek multi-day hikes in nature.
It is the road to Delphi, the navel of the earth. It is the "Pythia", the unknown Greek nature with the rare beauty of the Greek landscape, where wildlife moves at rhythms completely different from those that city dwellers are accustomed to. Nature, which many of us may have forgotten its beauty, but it never stops reminding us of it at every opportunity.
The book tries to convince readers to accept nature as the "Pythia", to accept the "lesson" it offers them, to listen to its "prophecies", to love it and to apply what they learn from their relationship with it in all fields of life. E4 is among them, and the testimony, the experiential narrative of the traveler is not a simple description. It tries to awaken consciences, to raise questions about the duty of preserving the natural environment and the landscape, to highlight the simple people of the countryside, their way of life and customs, traditions of mountainous Greece.
The challenge is the revitalization of the countryside, the return to what we love.
