The study of Ascetic Discourses is not an easy task. Their content pertains to the mysteries of God, which are reached by those who are deemed worthy by Christ. This new translation allows us to access a text that has a triple difficulty: in language, syntax, and vocabulary. The translation resolves the triple difficulty, with a beautiful text that draws us into reading it. The two philologists and translators (Giorgos Pinakoulas and Dimitris Koutsougeras) labored to bring to our language the brilliant work of an ascetic from the almost vanished Church of the East, in which our Fathers recognized themselves.
