I have triple-checked it and compared it to analog thermometers in both refrigerators and freezers, and it always falls within range. Don't buy the cheap ones for 2-3 euros, I had bought 5-6 of them and they all broke!

One of the two initially had some tricks, such as the fact that its screen had become blurry but then returned to normal. Perhaps the rubber o-ring of the battery seal was the issue. On the very positive side, it has the memory of the minimum-maximum temperature. This way, someone can understand how their refrigerator works. It comes with a support frame that has double-sided tape for mounting on the walls of the refrigerator, plus the folding support on the back for someone who doesn't want to stick it inside the refrigerator.

On days when I don't use it (absence from home), the freezing fluctuates from -22C to +4C. Without this, I would have never found out.

I bought an analog one (TFA 14.4006) to be able to monitor the temperature inside. I noticed repeatedly that the temperature it showed was higher than the temperature I had set in the refrigerator (4°C), as when the motor started, this specific thermometer showed 2 to 2.5 degrees higher! That's why I decided to get this specific digital model TFA 30.1042... which proved to me what I mentioned before.....IN PRACTICE!! It shows the exact temperature inside and as soon as it shows 4°C-4.1°C, the refrigerator motor starts working! I will also mention that the indication of the maximum and minimum temperature on the screen of the 30.1042 is very useful because it gives you a complete picture of the refrigerator's operation, especially during the hours it stays closed continuously (night hours, vacation periods, etc.)........I will buy another one for the freezer. For the price category, it is EXCELLENT!!!!!
