It is a demanding processor in terms of energy, so if you don't have a good cooler, you should get one. I had it liquid-cooled with a Corsair 110v2 and I saw temperatures up to 110°C on an X570 Aorus motherboard. The solution was found with an Aorus air cooler with a 200TDP. Since then, everything is fine.

You know what you're getting, it needs water cooling or really good air cooling especially with the stock voltages reaching 1.4v, and a very good motherboard like x570. If you tweak it, it works comfortably with 1.25v at 4.25 all cores, and with 1.35 ccd overclocking I reached 4.5ghz on 6 cores with better temperatures than stock! With 3600mhz memory, especially if you tune them like I did, you get even more benefits in gaming! Very good for rendering and general video editing, but also in games. There are definitely better CPUs for gaming, but at 2k resolution it doesn't play as big of a role (it still plays a role, just not as much as at 1080p)! Overall, it's worth its money and more, a 12-core at this frequency!

I simply plugged it into a 550 motherboard... didn't touch anything... didn't change anything... Whatever I say is not enough for this BEAST. Flawless 1000%. I effortlessly unpack 50 and 100 gigs...
Of course, we're talking about LINUX! Take a look at the image too! You'll understand! Superiority (Mind you, this is a comparison while still on b350!!!). Also, because I read many comments about temperatures... I have no issues whatsoever, with its own cooler and no modifications. Now, for example, I have 2 virtualbox running, youtube fullhd + whatever else I have open and I'm at 45... in the summer 50. Not a big deal. I don't play games, but with MK11 maxed out and MGS phantom pain, I'm somewhere around 70.

I bought it in November 2020 and since then, despite being a BEAST in everything, I constantly faced problems (like most of us) with its high temperatures. At startup, it would reach 50°C and gradually climb to 65°C - 70°C, where it would shut down.
Initially, the coolers I used were: AMD WRAITH -> Cooler Master Hyper 212X -> Be Quiet Dark Rock 3 (the above temperatures refer to the last cooler), and all of this with the case open!
Finally, even accidentally, I found the solution: for unknown reasons, when the processor is running and temperatures rise, as soon as I open the Task Manager, the temperature drops. As an example, the new temperatures are:
    browsing 35°C,
    video playback 38°C - 40°C, and
    gaming, for example, I would mention 48°C - 50°C.
Try it yourselves if you are facing the same issue. My opinion is that it does not concern the processor itself, but it is due to inefficient resource usage by the Windows system.

Wow, what a beast this is. I'm running 50Gb RAM simultaneously on demanding IDEs, JVMs, Docker distros, etc. and it doesn't even break a sweat. I've only seen it spike to 80% once, and usually it doesn't go above 40%. Even when playing AAA games with all the above open, it handles it effortlessly.

Of course, during the winter it reaches 90 degrees with the stock wraith cooler, so I'm expecting to get a triple fan AIO because I don't see it surviving the summer otherwise.

Owner of this for about 7 months. Upgraded from 2700x to Asus Crosshair VII x470, of course, after doing a BIOS upgrade. Main use is gaming streaming with a lot of multitasking as a power user.

I play at 2k 144hz along with another 2k monitor as a second one with 2080ti. If I say that I have utilized more than 40% of it, I would be lying. I am fully satisfied, no problems so far. Maybe someone who uses it as a work tool has more to say. My point of view is purely that of an enthusiast gamer. I have even opened 3 games together with a virtual machine Windows and I couldn't exceed 40% usage.

I combined it with 2x16GB Gskill Trident RGB Neo at 3600mhz with 16 timings (I don't have the exact product number available as I am writing this). I leave this information for those who struggled to put 32GB RAM in the previous Ryzen generation. You won't have any issues with any RAM kit you try

Out of the box, it is a grill in terms of temperature, but with a good paste and a few changes in the supply through Ryzen Master, everything is solved. I have had it for 9 months, running 1-4 VMs daily simultaneously, and occasionally, while everything is open, I can also open a game without any problems. The temperatures are consistently normal. Finally, it is an exaggeration for anyone who will only play games.

I have had it for about half a month and one thing I have to say is that it is a TITAN. I have been using it for about a month and it simply does not lag anywhere! Get it without hesitation!!! Also, temperatures in games reach 70-80⁰C with the stock cooler (in the summer). I will come back to update during the winter!

For gaming or demanding applications, the factory cooler that comes in the box needs to be replaced with a more powerful one, as it goes above 88C. However, it doesn't understand anything about running applications in parallel.
Note: The only use so far was during the summer, in a warm environment.

It's ridiculous how fast it is. Windows 10 installation in 1 minute with the stopwatch.
It requires Watts. I recommend 650W and above depending on the other devices you will install.

With 2 open database servers, compiled in Python, 8 VMs, and many times games and everything else running in the background, CPU utilization is at 30-35% and temperatures are normal. AMD worked its magic.

Anyone who wants to do video editing, yes, this is the best by far. I use it for gaming in 2k resolution with a 2070 super, it runs everything smoothly, heavy games like Battlefield V with RTX graphics at 90 fps and Call of Duty at 110 fps. The temperatures range from 60 to 72 with an air cooler, the be quiet! with Noctua paste, so it is a hot processor that needs liquid cooling. Finally, I have it on a new X570 MSI motherboard. It's simply amazing in terms of power, but it requires liquid cooling, of course, the fps still don't drop when it heats up compared to the old Ryzen processors. I have enabled the MSI game boost and it consistently runs at 4150gh with 1.35v power. Otherwise, if you leave the power freely, it runs like crazy and many times you see it at 1.57v. I hope I helped by saying what I see, and I repeat, all of this is with 2k resolution!

Can somehow 10 stars be put in 5, in this product?
    Use: Workstation / Gaming.
This processor was the biggest leap I have ever made in terms of performance.
Never before have I seen such a difference in my work and in Gaming, no matter how much money I invested in an upgrade.

Previously, I had the Ryzen 7 2700x with a Taichi x470. I did not expect a big change in Gaming, only in Encoding that I do. In the end, not only did I see a difference in my tasks, but I did not expect that it could reach 700+ FPS Benchmark in CSGO. I stream Call of Duty Modern Warfare on High Settings and Medium CPU Preset in the Streaming Software (Medium = quite heavy real-time processing) and yes, I lose about 40% of my performance but I still have 120+ FPS (depending on the Map, sometimes even 160+).

Very satisfied, especially considering that I did not change the motherboard. (I could still keep the first generation Ryzen motherboard if I wanted to, but for "aesthetic" reasons, I changed it last year.)

The processor is truly a powerhouse. Its price is a bit steep, but it has no comparison to the prices that Intel has accustomed us to for similar power (not to mention lower power processors, to avoid being mean). The 12 cores are really useful in cases like VM Machines, streaming and gaming, and/or recording, and generally for applications that require more cores. It is also more future proof, my friend. The temperatures are at reasonable levels with the stock cooler and without much noise, as long as you do a proper setup and obviously put it in a decent case. Check out the video review I did here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75DQJuOCrCs

Very good processor. Fast and stable. It will not disappoint anyone, in any usage scenario, whether it is for productivity or gaming.
It has only two negatives, which are relative. The first one is its price, but it is considered reasonable for what it offers and considering that it is a very new product. The second one is the temperatures it generates, which are logical if you consider that we are talking about a 12-core processor. Speaking of the latter, it is recommended to use a good cooler and preferably a liquid cooler of at least 240mm, in order to fully exploit it.
