During a period of intense political upheaval in Europe, the Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, published in 1848, served as a sharp critique of capitalism and simultaneously a radical call to arms.
It remains the most intelligent introduction to the ideas of communism and the clearest analysis of its aims. Many of its proposals continue to be at the heart of political discourse even in the 21st century.
It is no surprise, then, that the Communist Manifesto (as it was later renamed) is the second best-selling book of all time, after the Bible.
Martin Rowson, a cartoonist for the Guardian newspaper, uses his talent and wit to adapt the Communist Manifesto into this comic.
The result is a polished book that reminds us of the politics of hope, introducing the reader to the political theory of communism.

The illustration is dark and unrelated to the content. The book doesn't resemble a comic with a story, it simply has excerpts of the original text on images. The text is very difficult to read and very heavy. As an adaptation to a comic, it could be made more interesting and easier to read such a text.
I bought this product almost randomly because I ordered a lot of comics in bulk and added this one as well. With all due respect to the people who have adopted Marxism and have spent time studying it, this particular book is "terrifying". It reminds me of the Nazi propaganda book about Jews - the deadly mushroom. It shows - although it was not the intention of the creators - through the illustrations and excerpts, how manicheistically Marxists view the world. Then you understand why this ideology fanaticized people so much that it led them to extreme actions against their fellow human beings. And it is noteworthy that the illustrations were made by a Marxist!
Because at the end of the book there are proposals from illustrated pages aimed at children, I shudder at the mere idea that this book will fall into the hands of a child. This says a lot about Psichogios publications and their moral background...
**(After a long time and having dealt with and researched Marxism academically through works that are milestones in the analysis of Marx's work, such as:
1) Marx and Justice The Radical Critique of Liberalism Allen E. Buchanan
2) KARL MARX Selected Writings David McLellan
3) HISTORY LABOUR AND FREEDOM GACOHEN
4) Studies in Marxism. and Social Theory Making Sense of Marx Jon Elster
5) Marx- A Very Short Introduction Peter Singer)
I have appreciated the theoretical and interpretive value of Marxism in the social sciences and I understand that criticism may displease many. However, although I understand the spirit of the illustrator, it still seems wrong to me to launch it as if this comic is part of a children's illustrated series...
