Vassilis Paleokostas needs no special introduction. In this book, he vividly describes the adventure of his life and expresses his own moral stance on life.
A book, almost cinematic, that is read breathlessly, with powerful moments and other times tender, human, everyday moments, of a man who thirsts to live a normal life reacting to an unnatural world.

A book that keeps your interest unwavering throughout. The author took me along on this adventurous dark and difficult journey, presenting the facts from his own perspective in a vivid way. The system is rotten. What we can do is try individually, each from their own side, and collectively all together to change it. Vasilis decided to cancel it, and good for him.
Very good book from a person who you know that their strength was escapes and not the pencil. :))
Very valuable book in my opinion, it personally made me reconsider many things. If you want food for thought, you will definitely find fertile ground here. It helped me see the author's perspective and perception on certain matters, to hear his side as well.
Amazing book! From any angle you look at it... Journalistically, historically, in terms of action and many more. The best read especially for the summer. Don’t think about it.
If 50% of what is described is true regarding the judicial, police, and detention system, then by luck we exist as a state.
The book gurus will comment on how the story is reproduced, if it is well-written, if the punctuation marks are in their place, etc. I, as a simple reader, will say that this book is shocking. If Prison Break was the series of the 2000s, being a fantastic story, then this book should correspondingly be the book of the century.
If it was directed by Istgoud, the whole planet would be talking about it. When you speak the truth, it can only be fascinating!
I stand out, this is such a case that I don't know if any other book can offer something like this!
Nice book. It left me with the impression that the author was to a great extent objective and honest in the narration of the events. However, I would like him to make us know him better. I also expected him to immerse us more in the world of Greek prisons. It would be interesting for him to tell us his opinion on dominant forms of Greek illegality that he experienced all these years. I hope that this will happen in his next book. I will definitely buy it!
Excellent. Vasilis shows his character, his humanity, and his concerns. The book keeps you hooked and you don't want to stop reading
Excellent book and the story of Vasilis. You really must all read it. It has conscience and humanity within it
If by any chance you belong to those who have had a coffee even with Vasilis, then the book makes you feel very honored that you met him. The book is a treasure for anyone who dares to make it a book or even a series, as his life is full of many episodes.
Excellent! One of the most substantial sociological and not only approaches. It doesn't lack humor, sarcasm, and lyricism. I recommend it!
Amazing book, it says things as they are..
It's like watching a movie.
I have already given it to siblings and friends....
I have read it 3 times... It opens up the experience of describing to others what you are reading...
I would really like to discuss it with Vasilis....
The book keeps you in suspense to read the continuation. It tells the truth of (the author) in his own way.
Excellent book with a captivating plot and action. It brings back memories from the author's past (childhood years - travels), making it truly unique. Hopefully, it will serve as inspiration for a director and be released in cinemas. Not to showcase the hero Paleokostas, but for someone who has chosen a different/unconventional way of life, with whatever consequences that may bring.
Expose yourselves, gentlemen, keep up the pretenses.
Hello Vasilis, you tell them very well and you did them well too!!! The book is worth it, guys, get it!!!
I bought the book for the robberies kidnappings escapes (which will only leave you complaining), and yet the description of the trip to China was the highlight for me. The man did a great job. In conclusion, if I were in the 'Scrooge's images without an image' I would say that this book.. steals.. the impressions, read it to.. escape.. from everyday life.
I read the book. Respectable autobiography, extremely interesting, with a fast pace. It is not literary written, perhaps better in one opinion.
If not the best, one of the best books I have ever read. Many revelations about his personal life, about the judicial system of the country, justice... Abductions and entanglements. It contains everything.
We know society. Palaiokostas didn't need to describe it to us - we know it, and its disgrace. What we ignore is how we can and should not resemble it. And that there are still people... worthy of a normal life. Someone had to say it - and with action, and with words. To say it like this, so that you hear it not from him, but from your heart. Few can do it. Palaiokostas succeeded. From the first lines, you feel it, you hear it within you - that "yes"! Yes, "the same heartbeat and the duty of the heart"! A true and unexpected book. A lesson and a praise of freedom. Lyricism, love, courage... A pen, a sword, and a balance, that makes you question whether you are a human being, or a spineless creature that only knows how to crawl and parasitize in our rotten world. You read it, and you say "thank you!". To whom? To the Human, for the human who awakened within you... Thank you...
Amazing, revealing, introspective, it shatters myths and misconceptions, proclaiming the author as a thoughtful political figure. It must be read by everyone to understand the "state" we live in, the "justice" we have, and who constructs the guilty parties!
Professional writing, unexpectedly good. Action, emotion, and ethics intertwine in a book that resembles a cinematic atmosphere, but it is a true narrative. Perhaps this is how a normal life should ultimately be! It is the next book that Gavras should read if he hasn't already...
A life truly free.
