Very old fanboy of Final Fantasy, so it was probably obvious, especially since it was given for free back then with Playstation Plus, to download it in a version of Final Fantasy VII as a Remake. The game, of course, is broken into 3 parts, with the second one just released. In this first part, we encounter amazing graphics and depiction of beloved characters like Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, and Barrett, nice sound, easy battle system in terms of handling, there is weapon upgrading, Materia to equip, as well as a few Summons and your equipment. The story brings back the old memories, you wander in an environment and city that is semi-open, I would say. Side quests and side activities that are fun, and the story especially towards the end gains a thrilling pace. No discussion, it's a must-buy if you are a fan of RPGs, although I don't need to tell you that for you to know it.
I had never played ff in the past, although I knew of its existence. The environment is fantastic for me, the soundtrack is very nice, and the combination of hack and slash with magic is a very nice combination. The downside is the side quests that don't add anything or connect to the story. The game has something that maybe I would play again, but I'm looking forward to the next one. As a fan of Nier Automata, it reminded me quite a lot, so the game is close to my taste. Also, the DLC was very nice. It didn't tire me out and it was enjoyable.
It reminded me of my youth when I used to play video games as soon as I finished school and tutoring, but with excellent graphics. Awesome
The best Final Fantasy! A great job was done on this particular remake! I enjoyed it much more than Final Fantasy 15, which I got bored of relatively quickly! The graphics are a feast for the eyes, I played it on PS5 with 4K 60fps and it truly impressed me! I never got tired of it, I highly recommend it
Having played the original on PS1 many years ago, I must admit that the game exceeded my expectations. There is a clear improvement not only in the graphics but also in the story, gameplay, and overall presentation. It seems like they found the perfect balance between what can be improved while still keeping the DNA of the original game. 10/10
Simply perfect. I'm playing it on the PS5 after a relevant free upgrade. I haven't finished it yet, but so far (about halfway through the game), the story has kept me hooked. You don't get bored at all. The visuals and sound have also been done very well. Many times I've been left with my mouth open. It's worth every penny and more.
Boring as it gets and with very slow progression. Some outdated side quests...
Very nice graphics and battle system, but that's about it...
Very ahead of its time, just like Metal Gear Solid. Nice allegorical storyline, beautiful dystopian atmosphere. Religion, science, environmental protection, multinational corporations, education, culture, technology, social fragmentation, Mass Media... EVERYTHING IN ONE!!! Reaching even the search for human and non-human existence. They could have made a quick summary in the introduction with the events of Crisis Core so that there are no gaps for those who haven't played it. It had room for another 10 hours... Sephiroth, Jenova, Zack, Cloud why...? Now if I spoil about part 2, I'll be to blame...? VERY GOOD GAMEPLAY. A game of the past that shows us the present!!!!
I tried it and my jaw dropped. I immediately got hooked on the game. The battle system in the classic mode that I play is extremely enjoyable! The boss fights are also enjoyable!
The character movements grab your attention so much.. you observe them when they speak, when they walk.. constantly!
I put on headphones because the music and the dialogues are a delight!
What doesn't thrill me are the sidequests.. somewhat pointless! But it still gets my 5 stars because of EVERYTHING else.
It's my first time playing Final Fantasy and I got so hooked that I want to try the other FF games as well. It's worth every penny. Get it!!! It's also very friendly for people with upper limb disabilities if you play in classic mode.
As someone who has no experience with the first game, I have to say that I loved it as it is. Its battle system is possibly one of the best that has ever existed. Its graphics are jaw-dropping at times, no joke. Personally, I really liked the story and I think it's hard not to like it, and the important thing is that it has an ending even if it continues. Play it. Just that
I still remember the experience of the best RPG in 1997! I just finished playing the remake! I won't say it's exceptional because everyone in the comments has already covered that. I just want to say that if this is part 1, then for those of us who have played the old one extensively, part 2 will likely be the game of the decade! And when part 3 finally comes out, we will be talking about the best RPG from Squaresoft!
Amazing game
Excellent gameplay, awesome story. Get it with closed eyes, it's worth every last euro
Very good game with amazing music and very good graphics, personally I really like the battle system.
One of the best JRPGs ever, gameplay, sound, graphics, the definition of a gem. Oh, and I shouldn't forget to mention that it's free on PlayStation for the month of March for those who have a subscription. Simply exceptional
I got it as soon as it came out. It's amazing, I mean the little game set the standards for how a remake should be. I highly recommend it with closed eyes!
Whatever I say about this game is really little. My recent experience with the ps4 as I bought it mainly to play some characteristic games and ffvii was one of them. Where to start, from the wonderful characters that we all know and love? From the fantastic landscapes? The graphics and the amazing music that leave you speechless? It's all one and one to the point that I have reached chapter 16 and I am so sad that it will end soon. I don't have much to say, for me this game is top-notch and I can't wait to see if Square Enix releases part 2 for the ps4 so I can play it. For me, 1000/100 and I'm saying too little. Go try it and you won't regret it!
*Just for your information, I bought the game for around €43 including shipping and cash on delivery.
An epic reimagination of the classic beloved FFvii! Amazing graphics and a fresh new gameplay! The music is fantastic!
I'm playing again after 20+ years. The game is excellent, faithful to the original with exceptional graphics. The nostalgia of the music and the outstanding storyline is off the charts.
Finally, the desire of millions of players who had played this amazing game on the PSX has become a reality.
I believe that along with RE2 and Shadow of the Colossus, it is one of the best remakes created on the PS4
The game is worth its money 1000%. A fan of the original, this new version of the story gives a different dimension to an all-time favorite. Incredible graphics, possibly some of the best on PS4, a very long and rich story. It does a great job with character building, aided of course by the dialogues. It's a shame that it's only a small part of the game, but for me, it's worth playing. If you haven't played the original, you won't understand certain aspects of the game, but it's a fantastic experience regardless.
Especially for those who have played the old one, they will love it... What great characters! The gameplay is the best they could think of as a tribute to the old turn-based and modern action! It's a shame that it's only the Midgar part, as the most interesting things happen outside the city.
It is a nice game that follows the steps of the old Final Fantasy. The battles are entertaining and I didn't get bored at all with its gameplay. If something bothered me, it was that the game was a bit linear, with each stage essentially being a straight line... and the graphics were disappointing in some areas for a Final Fantasy game. It's not possible to enter different rooms and instead of seeing your reflection as an idol, you see a golden reflection... Also, for an RPG game, it was quite short, only 40 hours, and I did everything. I haven't played any other RPG for such a short amount of time, usually it would take around 80 hours for the shortest one I've played... Also, the quests were very boring, just killing monsters with no variety... Other than that, the gameplay was enjoyable and the battle system was excellent
If you like jrpgs and rpgs in general (role-playing in case you are new to gaming and still don't know the categories), I highly recommend it. It has an incredibly good plot, with very interesting characters. The battle system is a bit complex but can be learned quickly and has a huge variety of moves. It is the perfect combination of the original game with recent rpg genres
I have not played the original, but as a big fan of the Kingdom Hearts series, which has the same director and many of the same developers as the FF7 Remake, I can say that they have fixed many of their flaws (dialogue, cutscene editing, direction, cinematography, level design).
The gameplay, like in Kingdom Hearts, is a strong point of the game. The bosses have a very good design as always. The graphics and production value are incredible. The soundtrack is 11/10 and the models of the main characters are among the best that have ever existed. This is a great achievement, especially on the PS4, which had limited hardware from the start.
Of course, the game is not flawless, as 2-3 out of the 18 chapters have a pretty bad flow. There is also a significant issue with pop-in (which I personally did not encounter much, but I have seen many people on the internet talking about it). There are 2-3 other minor issues, but I won't describe them because they are spoilers.
