I bought this wi-fi usb adapter because my laptop is 10 years old and does not support the 5GHz band for high speeds on my recent VDSL 50 connection. It works perfectly on Windows 10 and besides the 2.4GHz, it now also detects the 5GHz band. It reaches a download speed of 49Mbps, an upload speed of 4.8Mbps, and a ping of 9ms-10ms. I haven't tested it for gaming since I don't play games, but in terms of its functionality during the short period I've had it, I haven't experienced any disconnections. I tried a download and even reached 5.9MB/sec! It is quite practical, occupying a USB port, and the antenna can be adjusted if it gets in the way. It also has a green LED indicator for operation. Regarding the range, I cannot comment on its performance in this area since my modem is close to my laptop. The installation is very easy, simply plug it into the USB port and install the software using the accompanying CD. Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase. I now have speeds close to 50Mbps compared to the 20-25Mbps I used to get with the 2.4GHz band. It is a reliable and simple device that does what you need it to do and is worth its price. I highly recommend it for anyone with older computers whose network card does not support the 5GHz band for VDSL use.
Unacceptable product. It worked without disconnections for 1 month. Now it disconnects more than 15-20 times a day, without changing any parameters. The worst thing I have ever bought. And supposedly it's the best. I can't imagine how worse the rest are... Simply unacceptable. I'm constantly taking it off and putting it back on, hoping it will reconnect.
After about 1.5 years of use, it disconnects about 3-5 times a day, the 5GHz band doesn't connect even as a joke while the router is 4-5 meters away. Its quality is proportional to its price, just okay.
After 3 months, it keeps disconnecting non-stop out of the blue... I took it out and put it back in 10 times, it stays connected for 15 minutes and then it's the same again... Stay away... better to get something more expensive. It's a shame because it's a good company
I do not recommend it because, first of all, the USB of the wifi adapter can easily break with any slight movement. If someone is cleaning in your room and accidentally hits it with a broom, it can easily be damaged due to its very long antenna. Secondly, due to its very fragile and cheap construction (in addition to what I mentioned above), I had bought three of these wifi adapters, so this was my third purchase from the same company and obviously the last one. I wasted a lot of money and none of these wifi adapters from this company lasted even a year. Very poor choice, get something more stable and compact, and you won't have as much frustration as I do in the photo...
The worst. One moment it reaches 30mbps, the next it reaches 3mbps even with the router half a meter away. I wonder how they can release such garbage on the market without feeling any shame, but what can one expect from a company like this...
I bought it as a gift for a colleague and from what he told me, it seems a bit slow compared to other ones he has tried. It doesn't have any disconnections, he will test it in another location outside his home with other routers.
In the beginning (2 years ago) it was somewhat stable. Now the computer is in the same room as the router and it constantly disconnects. When it is connected, it is slow and unreliable.
I have a 200 Mbps fiber optic connection, so the bad speed is not explained.
It is truly plug & play on Windows 11, no drivers or CD needed, which were included in the package. It works perfectly at a distance of about 5 meters with 2 walls exactly 100%. Small changes in its placement also affect the speed, sometimes reaching 90 and other times 100. Avoid low areas with a lot of metal nearby. It is definitely worth its price. I bought it after being very unsatisfied with the powerline from tplink, which only reached 30.
Well guys, it took me about 6 months to have an opinion on this particular product. I have bought 2 of them and both have the same issues. At first, it seemed to work fine. However, problems appeared along the way with both devices. I don't know if it's a driver issue or something else, but my concern is that both devices either won't work upon computer startup (it takes 1-2-3 restarts for them to work) or they work but the network is unstable (no disconnections, but issues that you notice in various games). For me, it's not worth it to keep this device. I believe it has construction issues, as other devices I have that cost 5 euros work perfectly. This particular one is problematic and you notice it over time. Stay away!
At a distance of 4 meters with a brick wall, it was difficult to find a signal and when it did, it only reached up to 15Mbps, while I have a 100Mbps connection. It was also tested in another house and had the same performance! With a signal booster plugged in next to the computer, I reached 100Mbps. Unfortunately, it is useless
Not the best on the market, but definitely one of the best for its price. I use it on my PC for household tasks and it does a satisfactory job. Don't have too many expectations though... it's suitable for an old PC that you want to have wifi or for a home PC for simple use
Perfect, it works perfectly on an old HP laptop that is 10+ years old, which did not have the capability to connect to 5G at home on a 100 Mbps line, and now it works flawlessly!!
It also greatly enhances the signal in the village where I don't have my own line but work with the municipality's free line.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, especially at this price, you won't find anything better!
I received it today in my hands for use on a Dell laptop with Ubuntu that had a weak signal reception.
- Easy connection and adjustment of the antenna position.
- For the drivers, I found instructions with a simple search on Google and installed them relatively easily with 2-3 commands (see here for those interested: https://github.com/nlkguy/archer-t2u-plus-linux)
- The reception is very good so far and I have noticed various improvements in download speed (sufficient for my usage).
- It also works perfectly on Windows.
The only reservation I have is that it might start disconnecting over time, as I have read in several reviews.
For the 16€ I paid, I hope it will last me for a while without any issues. I will update if I encounter any problems.
Good product for 6 months but after that, it drops to 23 Mbps with a strong signal from the router and frequent disconnections. It worked very well with Ethernet at 200Mbps. I can't understand what the issue is, maybe overheating?
Unacceptable product, constant disconnections after three months and speeds of only 6-7mbps on a 24mbps connection. I used the motherboard's wifi directly to test normal speeds
When I first got it, I was very satisfied because it reached a speed of 100 from a distance of 100 meters. All this lasted for 3 weeks, where it started disconnecting constantly and reaching a maximum of 17mbps from the 100 it used to reach. Cheap product and defective. DO NOT BUY IT FOR THE FREE 23 EUROS THAT I PAID. IF IT HAD HALF A STAR, I WOULD GIVE IT THAT!!!!
I recommend it only for those who need it for very simple uses such as browsing the internet. I am very disappointed because I play a lot of games and it disconnects me during the game, which is the worst thing for someone who does it competitively. However, if you don't play online games and just want to have internet on your computer, it is a suitable solution and for all budgets as well
With a sweatshirt in the other room at 5GHz with a 100mbps connection, it consistently reaches 96-97 and has a very good and stable ping. I had an old tp link adapter and the differences are many. It's worth its money
After 2 months of use, which worked fine, I can say that I am not so satisfied because the computer was giving me a blue screen and even though I had formatted it 3 times, it still had the same issue. I had to connect it with an Ethernet cable and then the PC worked fine. It has a very good range and speed, but for such a short period of time, I would not recommend it as it caused me such a big problem. Regarding to confirm that the issue is with the adapter and not the PC, tests were done both with it and with a cable, and it was observed that as soon as I connected the adapter, the blue screen appeared
With the router in the same room, it works perfectly. I haven't tested it with obstacles in between, etc. Also, for two months now, it hasn't disconnected even once.
