It's nice, the old ones with the electric current didn't appeal to me when a large insect fell on them, there was a risk of overheating because they couldn't melt it. These ones are brought down by the fan and stay there until they die, which is not a scary death for the mosquitoes that drink our blood and might even be educational for them. They are beautiful in the space.
However, in the long term, I realized that they are at a hybrid level, meaning the LEDs or the motor burn out easily; in my case, the motor burned out. I went to the market, replaced it with the same item, and it broke down in two days. It probably needs a slower and stronger motor that can provide the movement to the propeller at the speeds needed to suck in the insects with gears, so it can work all day without burning out.
I've had it for 3 years and finally the fan broke.
It's not something terrible.
To work, it needs to be on 24/7, especially at night without other lights that attract insects. Now I'm buying it again.
The only downside is that with such cheap little things from China, you never know if you'll get a good one or a defective one from production.
What I ordered arrived and it's much smaller than the one I had.
And I see that the airflow from the fan is very light and it won't attract mosquitoes.
Three days working continuously day and night and not even 1 mosquito in the tent it has, and the mosquitoes were flying and biting undisturbed.
The watermelon is useless....which LED light and ultraviolet light and nonsense!!!
I used it for a whole semester in the office and caught 1 mosquito which probably accidentally fell in from the 10 or less mosquitoes circulating daily. Very bad purchase. Also very annoying noise.
If you want to waste your money, buy it. We put it into operation. Mosquitoes and flies were circulating undisturbed. We tried complete darkness. Still, it didn't catch anything.
I have a toddler who has welts and is covered in mosquito bites.
The airflow is imperceptible. The blue light doesn't seem to attract them.
We continued to kill mosquitoes and flies by hand!
I change my review from one star and the worst I wrote before. It seemed useless and weak, but nevertheless, I left it in operation. And indeed, it does the job. It won't immediately eliminate mosquitoes from your space, but it will definitely trap some, which will die in a day or two inside the container they have been trapped in. For this price, it's fine. It just takes time to be effective. And don't open the container to check, because live mosquitoes will immediately come out!
I bought it in winter so I don't know how effective it is against mosquitoes.. it is effective against flies, but mainly when it is night and there is no other light to attract them..
And one star is too much for this useless, ridiculous light fixture! And we paid 20 euros for it in cash on delivery! Lesson learned not to buy a pig in a poke! Moreover, today they called us to promote another sale...
