  I have a very different opinion than most it seems. The truth is that if there is a trend, it will detect it, but...
  1. something doesn't make good contact and when you open it and try to use it, it completely shuts down and doesn't open again. It may require unscrewing the battery a bit and screwing it back in.
  2. it makes a sound just by hitting a cable or anything, without any voltage. So when you move it inside a panel, for example, and it touches the cables, bars, fuses, it makes various beeps, just like when it touches a wall, floor, wood, etc.
  3. it has a cheap construction feel.
  Nevertheless, it will find and hit the 230v strongly.
