Whatever I say is not enough for this book. Beginning, development, structure of the plot, the ending all in harmony. Not many details, just enough to understand the story. In the end, there is a twist in the plot, something I did not expect. If you like this kind of books, then you must read it!

Michaelides has studied screenplay, so the writing is quite cinematic. The twist at the end that thousands of readers around the world talk about, I admit that for me it was relatively evident from a small detail that was left at some point and I didn't want to have figured it out because I like to be surprised. However, in the end, I was right and it bothered me because it deprived me of the surprise. But surely many won't notice it, and if that happens, then the ending is a slap in the face for the reader because it truly doesn't let you think about it, the author. I won't give it 5 stars even though I would like to because I consider it not to be a masterpiece for my taste. However, it is obvious that it is worth reading and recommending because it is extremely digestible as I mentioned before and it reached the top of the New York Times, so so many readers know something. Therefore, it is obvious that it is worth considering if someone is thinking of getting it, but there is always the personal touch in the criticism that someone makes. Don't let others influence you because we are simple readers with different tastes and backgrounds. My next book is "The Maidens" by the same author and I can't wait.
