Overheating is excessive. The food needs constant flipping. It doesn't cook potatoes well. Its plastics are not good in any case, it's not worth its money.
I would not recommend it. Firstly, it does not have many cooking options, only temperature. It does not cook quickly, as our oven is faster. Also, while washing it, one of the three rubber seals came off and got lost (there is no replacement). Lastly, and most importantly, it has large holes on the sides, so if the food is juicy enough or if you put the basket to soak, water comes out from the sides and you cannot fill it up. I did not like it, I was not satisfied... it is a utensil that I only use on the balcony so that the house does not smell if I cook fish.
Unfortunately, it broke in 8 months. It was under warranty, so I returned it for repair. They returned it to me fairly quickly, but the problem reappeared after two uses. Now it is useless. While it was working, it was pretty good.
The best for a family of up to 4 people.
Very good quality of construction.
Amazing result on steaks and chicken, without drying out the food.
All the food placed should be flipped halfway through cooking.
It has a good quality-price ratio. The basket of this specific fryer is large and can fit 2 servings of potatoes that are cooked in about 35 minutes. However, you need to stir every 5-10 minutes, otherwise the ones at the bottom remain slightly raw. Taste-wise, it is about 70% as good as deep-fried. It is better not to cook meat directly from frozen. Essentially, it functions like a very powerful air fryer, making the food more crispy.
The manual is very basic, but based on it I calculate the cooking time. I am still testing the timings. The potatoes become crispy, the meatballs turned out great, as well as the chicken fillet, in 1/3 of the time they need in the oven, with minimal oil, about half a teaspoon
After various tests, I found out that it doesn't fry like the previous ones I had. It has a fairly large basket, but it doesn't cook quickly and evenly. This means that the watts may not be real. I do not recommend it and I will return to the previous one from another company
Well, the device is very good. First of all, it doesn't smell at all, it cleans very easily, it has a large container, and it cooks very quickly compared to the oven, so (and since it also has fewer watts) it is more economical. I have made cheese pies (10min), burgers (15-20min), meatballs (15-20min), chicken bites (20-25min), and half a chicken. It also makes pre-fried potatoes very good in 15-20 minutes and they are really delicious. It requires very little oil, I just lightly brush them by hand and also turn them halfway through the cooking time (about 15 minutes) for all the food. I tried fresh potatoes once, but it makes them like roasted potatoes, but much faster. Maybe it requires experimentation with time and temperature. Be careful: it is very large and it emits a lot of hot air from the back, so put a protective barrier (I have used a cutting board). Also, be careful with foods that release juices and fat because it has holes at the bottom of the container, so they can spill, so be careful after cooking so that the kitchen doesn't become a mess. It is value for money, especially at the price of 75 euros that I bought it for.
1. It doesn't fry the potatoes. I tried ten times for 30 minutes, at temperatures of 180 C and 200 C, soaking the potatoes in water for 30 minutes to remove the starch, drying them, and the potatoes were still raw.
2. There are no recipes or instructions for use of the fryer. Only a two-page booklet with pictures. You can guess what it means. I, for one, couldn't figure it out.
I got it on sale for €75 and all I have to say is: excellent! It cooks quickly and very deliciously, it never smells, it doesn't stick, it makes things crispy, the potatoes are almost like fried ones, it cooks everything, just everything needs to be turned halfway through cooking time. I use it every day, no need for the oven anymore. The only thing is that I haven't tried cooking large quantities, only for two people. I imagine if you fill the basket a lot, it might take longer, but still, it's only 1500 watts so you could call it economical. I hope it lasts a long time.
The truth is that I came here to rate my cooking for the first time today... I decided to grill a beef fillet and I was so excited to give it a grade. It seemed as if it was cooked on charcoal... unbelievable, right? Next time, I won't be so hungry and I'll have time to take a photo. I will update again in my next attempt, which I plan to be potatoes... and definitely with a photo. Oh, also, I read about some other fryers from different companies having a strong smell on the first use... With this specific one, it's not something intense. Of course, as a first step, I tested it with a bread and cheese sandwich to check for any smell, and then I grilled the meat... update: Today I made burgers and I'm adding a photo...
Coming from the Tefal Actifry purchased in 2007 and died in 2022, I decided to invest in the same company because I was satisfied with the previous one. However, in this one, after only one test with potatoes, I can say that it does a good job but you don't have a visual while it's cooking and you have to check regularly regardless of the given cooking times for each food and stir whatever you're cooking. You need to learn to adjust it with experience to find the right cooking time and temperature because the temperatures given in the instructions do not match in my case. Half of them became overcooked and the others were simply cooked even though I stirred them! Anyway, I hope it lasts over time even though I'm skeptical!
Coming from the Tefal Actifry that I had for 6 years with daily use, but it broke down and I went back to Tefal but with a more classic fryer.
I have had it for about 3 months and mainly use it for frying potatoes, either frozen or fresh. It takes about 5 minutes to stir them and in 20 to 25 minutes the potatoes are ready.
It fries them very well with just a little oil. I have also made roasted vegetables and chicken nuggets and it cooks them very well with a nice crisp, it just needs to be stirred relatively often.
The capacity is very good for 3-4 people, it can handle generous quantities. It is easy to clean and overall I am quite satisfied.
The only thing left is to see how long it will last, but Tefal usually lasts a long time.
I initially gave it as a gift and I didn't expect the food to have such quality and deliciousness, especially when it comes to the meat. I got jealous and got one for myself as well. I highly recommend it!!! Easy cooking and very tasty, juicy meats and crispy potatoes that have nothing to envy from those soaked in oil.
Quality, sturdy, and compact device, fries/cooks quickly with even distribution of hot air through the food. I prepared meatballs, chicken nuggets, and French fries rapidly. It is very easy to clean. It is good to remove the basket two or three times during cooking for stirring, which is very easy and without a spoon. It washes easily and dries immediately, it does not retain moisture because it is Tefal. Its durability remains to be seen over time...
