DDR3

DDR3 is the third generation of RAM memory technology for computers. It replaces DDR2 and offers increased speeds and capacity.

It offers operating speeds from 800MT/s to 2133MT/s, latency (CAS Latency) from CL4 to CL19, while its capacity has increased up to 16GB per memory module.

For speed (MT/s) and capacity (GB), the larger size we choose, the better performance we will have in our system, while for latency (CL), we want the smallest size for the speed (MT/s) we have chosen.

The above characteristics should be compatible with the specifications of our motherboard.

The Mushkin SO-DIMM DDR3 provides a speed of 1066MT/s, with CL7 and 4GB per memory module.

Compatibility

DDR3 technology is compatible with specific motherboards and processors. Indicatively, DDR3 is compatible with Intel 3rd & 4th Gen, Pentium, and Celeron processors, as well as AMD FX and Phenom II series processors.

However, for compatibility with your motherboard, you need to ensure that your motherboard supports DDR3 technology from the manufacturer. Compatibility depends on the processor platform and the type of motherboard you are using.

    I bought 1 pair of 4+4 GB for Acer 7741G and one pair of 4+4 GB for Toshiba Satellite L670. They work perfectly on Acer. However, they do not work on Toshiba. The computer does not even start, even though the specifications are the same. The Toshiba had 4 GB RAM Samsung 1066MHZ 1.5V CAS:7, which means the specifications are the same, but the memories are not compatible. I put a 5-star rating because they worked on Acer, but for Toshiba, I give 0. I will check the compatibility issue and buy different memories for Toshiba (both were paired with Samsung SSD 860 500 GB)
