In this book, I have deliberately separated the exercises related to Obedience from the exercises related to Safety Training and have made the text as simple as possible, without delving into too many details regarding dog psychology. Much has already been written on this subject and although theorists would prefer the book to include the relevant information, it would neither be easily comprehensible nor necessary for the average dog owner, who simply wants to train their own dog. I believe that the instructions given in the following pages will be practical for the majority of those who have dogs and who want to make their dogs a useful companion. All Obedience lessons are useful because the dog is trained in the most painless way.
