The small and lightweight Nikon AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 D lens works with all Nikon cameras, digital and film, with automatic or manual focus, and its results impress every time.
The viewing angle it provides with an FX body is 46° and with all DX bodies 31°. These lenses, when used for portraits, are distinguished for their sharpness and depth of field control, and in low light shots, they are distinguished for the amount of light they can "capture".
The Nikon AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 D, although compatible with the latest technology bodies (full frame cameras), will not have autofocus functionality in cameras that do not have a built-in focus mechanism, such as the D3xxx series (D3000, D3100, D3200) and the D5xxx series (D5000, D5100, D5200), and the F3. For autofocus in such cameras, the AF-S 50mm f/1.8 G is needed.

Sharp lens but this comes at a cost in terms of bokeh. Also, be aware (as other users have mentioned) it does not have autofocus with cheaper Nikon DSLR cameras. However, manual focus on the company's cameras is very easy and there is confirmation from the camera in the viewfinder, so even with the outdated D60, I did not encounter difficulties. As for the price, I would say it is worth every cent I paid, but on the other hand, the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM is half the price and has similar specifications. Overall, I would describe it as a must-buy for almost all Nikon DSLR owners.
Very nice lens, ideal for use simultaneously in film and digital, timeless. Unfortunately, it loses the 5 stars as it is overshadowed by the newer model at a relatively similar price.
I had so far the 18-55 lens kit and another telephoto lens. However, with this one I am thrilled. Amazing sharpness and colors. But what impressed me the most is how bright it is. Although I have the d5600, which does not support autofocus with this lens, I believe it is worth buying for what it offers at this price. And surely the lack of autofocus is not a problem for those who know how to work with it manually.
On a professional level, this lens hardly comes off my camera due to its excellent color reproduction and solid construction. However, it requires attention when purchasing, as the autofocus does not work on d5xxx and d3xxx models since the lens does not have a focus motor.
For a manual lens from the decade, it is simply fantastic. The bokeh is fantastic and it is easy to use, but the manual focus, if you have a D3xxx or D5ΧΧΧ camera, will give you trouble. Additionally, it is not compatible with D5300 type cameras, I tried it
It is an excellent lens but it is aimed at photographers with a very steady hand, especially for manual use. Definitely, on vacation, if you don't have space in your luggage, you will prefer the 18-55 that goes spherical. Also, in manual focus, you need to be very careful. Wonderful video. Once you learn how to handle it, each of your photos will evoke emotion.
The lens choice was made after a recommendation from a photographer friend and it is the most convenient lens I have used so far.
+ Good night shots in low light
+ Nice colors
+ User-friendly and compact
- Focus is slower compared to the new Nikon model
- The lens makes noise
- The ideal price for me would be 80-100 euros!
If someone wants to see what sharpness, plasticity, and color are in photography, they should try this Chinese lens. And the absolute absence of any geometric distortion is a gift.
Excellent lens for portraits for this price. I have been using it for 4 years without any issues, and I would definitely buy it again if it broke. It is also very bright
A perfect 50mm lens for portraits!!! As for the noise, you won't even notice it!!!! It doesn't make any noise!!! It's great!!!! We have a camera and we want to feel it!!!! Not something to lull us to sleep!!!! Get it with your eyes closed!!!
Very good lens. Good value for money. Be careful because it does not focus with cameras that do not have a motor for AF. Overall, it is the best for its price. Also, it is very small and very lightweight!
As mentioned, it is one of the best lenses in terms of value for money. The autofocus only works on models with motors (7xxx series and above, and 3xxx series and above). It is not the fastest or quietest. Very sharp in the center, lightweight and small in size, ideal choice for portraits and classic 50mm.
Extremely sharp lens! The only drawback is that the focusing is a bit slow in action scenes because it uses the camera's motor. It's not Zeiss, but for the money, it's impressive!
Very good build quality.
Very good value for money.
A bit slower than the G
Get it is also at a reasonable price and FULL FRAME unlike the new ones.
Very good lens. Good value for money.
