I've had it for a year now and it hasn't given me any issues. Installing the SSD was a breeze and didn't cause any problems. The build quality of the case is fantastic as it's made entirely of aluminum, which provides great protection for the SSD (even though it's never fallen, I imagine it wouldn't suffer any damage), and at the same time, due to its construction, it's one of the most beautiful cases on the market compared to other products available. Also, it's quite useful that it comes with USB type C-type A and type C-type C cables, as there may be cases where both are needed. Although there are cheaper cases on the market (up to €20 for one with a PCI Express interface), what made me buy this one was its construction, which not only provides protection but also a heat sink (it still heats up, so I don't know how well it performs), and its appearance. I believe it's a good product for its price and worth buying.

The cable included in the package was damaged (did not make good contact). Sometimes I couldn't write to the disk and had to play with the lock switch to get it to work again (open and disconnect it, then reconnect and close it), and the climax a few days ago (2 months after purchase) it completely stopped working.
Computers see a storage device without a boot record or partition table and when I try to initialize the disk it gives me a fatal hardware error. 2 different SSDs with different capacities from different manufacturers and 3 computers with different operating systems have the same result.
I am extremely disappointed for the 35€ I paid for a metal paperweight. The conclusions are up to you.

  Quality and compact construction. It gives you the feeling that it can withstand being stepped on by a car or a fall from the 2nd floor.

  A Kingston KC3000 1TB was installed inside by the customer, for the use of many small files like PDF/Word, for working from home as the laptop does not support 1TB of internal storage.

  I did not find any Greek in the user manual, only 5-6 images which do not help if you haven't attempted it before, and you will need to watch videos on YouTube and spend 10-15 minutes testing to figure it out.

  A big plus is the USB Type-C to USB Type-A adapter/cable that comes with it. At 28 euros when I was searching, it was by far the best case!

  Very fast and comes with a USB A that has a conversion to USB C, so it was convenient for me on the computer and TV without any issues. Its main problem is that in the first week of use, it stopped being recognized by the computer and the TV, but it was recognized (partially) by a laptop and did not give me access to my files, but since I am knowledgeable about the subject, I found a solution, so I cannot recommend it to inexperienced users. The NVMe inside is new and functional. The metal lines on top do not help at all with cooling; they are only for appearance, as the cooling of the NVMe is done by thermal pads and a thin metal plate, which are provided with the packaging.

  I give it 4 stars solely because I bought it for simple file storage and nothing more!

  More specifically: I wanted a case for a heavily used and dropped M2 NVME 500gb drive which I was using as my main hard drive on my computer until I upgraded. So I won't mention read-write speeds but only my user experience with the product for the 1.5 months that I have been using it.
  First of all, I had a positive impression that there is a small screwdriver in the package. However, it is so delicate for my hands that I used my own with a thicker handle.
  The installation of the NVME is very easy and quick. It took me just 2-3 minutes including the time I was examining it.
  I was concerned about the several comments that found the cable problematic, so with the order, I also got a second cable just in case. However, I didn't need it because the one in the package worked perfectly.
  Upon first connection, my computer immediately recognized it and I transferred 450Gb of files (small and large in size) directly.
  I have had it for 1.5 months now and I have not had any disconnections (due to the cable) or any other issues.
  It heats up quite a bit if it works continuously, but because it is metallic, it cools down quite quickly, which is why I preferred it over cheaper plastic ones.
  It comes with a cute and practical pouch, where you can store it without scratching the case itself or your belongings. A good and cheap bargain from the company.
  I bought it for €31 and for that money - for the personal use I make of it - it is quite good.

  I need a quality case in terms of construction / durability and functionality as I am a professional in the field of information technology and provide support to companies. So the case is not intended to hold a disk for a long time - it has been removed in at most 2-3 hours. For this reason, I did not proceed to purchase the more expensive version with USB 3.2 support - 3.1 meets my needs and the difference is not justified.

  Construction quality: sturdy construction - metal everywhere possible - and a nice feel of the device, front and back covers made of metal secured with screws.

  Included: USB-C <-> USB-C cable, USB-C <-> USB-A cable, thermal conductive elastic band (not used), screwdriver, disk mount on the board with a screw, additional screws and mount in case something is lost, all in a nice bag with strings.

  Overall, it is a very well-made construction without "cutting corners".

  In operation, it is particularly reliable and stable. It is easy to perceive how much heat the metal casing dissipates while the device remains at a stable performance. I have not dealt with Benchmarks as it does not concern me. However, I see the stability of the performance as the predicted times, for example in an Image / Clone, are maintained.

  I declare myself a satisfied buyer and if I need another one in the same brand, I will turn to it again.

  Owner of this case for about 10 months. Its use was minimal, especially during the first 2 months, and then sporadic.

  After 10 months, it stopped working, which surprises me as I expected much better durability, especially with minimal use.

  I am expecting a replacement in case the second case proves to be better.

  Reading reviews here for use with Mac, I bought it along with a Kingston NVME 2TB, initially as an external drive on an Intel Mac I7, from 2019. It warmed up a bit (lukewarm), but everything was normal. And on an i9 Mac, OK. On a PC, also all good. For various reasons, it became useless and I remembered it when I bought 2 Macbook Airs from 2020 with M1.
  That's when the problems started:
  The drive was getting lost and the Mac couldn't see it even with a restart, but ONLY after connecting it first to a PC! Without doing anything else!
  The tasks with disc utilities wouldn't finish, the program would give an error and I couldn't even format it. Additionally, the icybox was OVERHEATING! Same behavior on both MacBooks.
  On the PC and IntelMac, everything was consistently okay.
  I didn't proceed with further experiments, so as not to damage the drive.

  On Black Friday the day before yesterday, I bought this directly from Satechi:

  and it arrived today with FEDEX!!! Amazing!!!
  Anyway, I put in the Kingston, and....everything is fine with BOTH MacBooks! So the drive is NOT the problem.

  It's fine. I installed an old Samsung 960 EVO that I had left over and I was reluctant to give it away, so now I have a 500GB external drive that works perfectly. The installation was quite easy, it requires a little work with the small screws, but the packaging includes everything, even thermal pads and a screwdriver! The drive is connected to USB 3.1 Gen2 and achieves sequential 1080/1040 R/W, which is the limit of the connection. In terms of temperatures, during the secure erase process where the drive is completely rewritten and takes some time, it reached a maximum of 48 degrees, which is well below the thermal throttle threshold. The enclosure did get quite warm, which means that the cooling system design is working fine. Very satisfied.

  Very good build quality. I have paired it with a Kingston 1tb nvme and it works perfectly with a usb-c to usb-c connection. I do video editing without even needing to transfer files to the PC's nvme. The only downside is that although the installation is easy, it requires a screwdriver (which is included), so you can't change "disks" like shirts. The design is very good for easy heat dissipation, but don't be fooled, it still heats up normally. In conclusion, it's a bit expensive but worth every euro.
