It is a campaign-exploration game and players play cooperatively to complete their missions against enemies, always guided by the application. Therefore, someone can play the whole game alone. Prospective buyers should be aware that the game, as well as the app, are offered in English. There are several rules (some very simple and some more complex), the choice between three difficulty levels, and many cards (items/abilities/roles/weapons, etc). It is also very easy for someone to find and download the application for free, as well as to download and read the rules, in order to have an idea. I really like the quality of the game, the classic plastic figures of heroes and enemies, the graphic work on the maps, cards, and generally all the artwork that characterizes a fairy-tale and fantasy world. The cards initially brought me difficulty in how to handle and use them, but over time they provide great depth of choices and strategy in the game: how each player can choose to evolve and upgrade their character. Personally, I found it a very entertaining game, maybe someone who is a big fan of the work of J.R.R. Tolkien. Perhaps a bit pricey, but it is something that lasts, like all board games. Edit 2024: The only thing that makes it lose value as a board game is the very poor replayability, as it relies exclusively on the app to work. What I mean is that because the specific campaign you complete is one, essentially you feel like you are living the same story over and over again each time. The only difference is that you experience it through different characters or with different difficulty levels or with friends. However, it is a basic campaign, divided into chapters. A new campaign has been added through the app, but it is also paid, unfortunately. It pushes you to constantly buy expansions to be able to experience something different in the same world, something that doesn't excite me of course.
