The toner cartridges included in Lexmark's Return Program are printing toners sold at a reduced price, with the condition that the customer agrees to use the cartridges only once and return them only to Lexmark for remanufacturing or recycling. These single-use toners stop functioning when they reach the end of their designated life, as determined by Lexmark (there may be a variable amount of toner remaining in the cartridges when replacement is required). These toners can also automatically update the printer's memory to protect it from non-genuine and unauthorized products.
