Benefits
This is the GEL! It’s a bold statement. But it’s true nonetheless. Technically, traditional gels are water and carbohydrates simply mixed into syrups, often containing added flavors and preservatives.
The GEL100 is completely different. It is a biopolymer matrix, filled with a unique blend of fructose and glucose (ratio 0.8:1) that allows the intake of up to 100 grams of carbohydrates per hour.
It is made using natural hydrogel technology and crafted with six natural ingredients.
It contains no colorants or preservatives and is available in 40g servings.
Each serving contains 60% carbohydrates – a high weight-to-energy ratio.

I have used this Gel in 3 marathons and one ultramarathon. In difficult race conditions, my stomach felt nothing. Easily digestible with quick absorption. I highly recommend it.
Excellent quality. Sweet taste, and not too intense like other gels. Its texture is like Turkish delight, I agree with the users who noticed it. It comes out of the packaging easily and doesn’t run. However, its price is prohibitive for me. 3.75€ for 25g of sugar. I only keep it for the race.
I’m posting the ingredients from here. It has a little salt, but no other electrolytes. There is also a version with caffeine.
Fructose and glucose ratio: 0.8/1
(I would prefer more glucose and less fructose to digest it even more easily and to be able to consume more within the same time. On the other hand, with such a price, I take 1 per hour and that’s plenty for me. -$$ )
I was using GU. Quite satisfied, amazing flavors. However, during a marathon after the 5th - 6th my stomach started wanting to expel its contents. I read good things about Maurten. Although significantly more expensive, they haven't caused me any issues during a marathon so far, and they don't require water. They don't have the taste of GU, and they are more expensive, but where it matters I think (to do their job without side effects) they are worth the money.
Extremely stomach-friendly, easily digestible, and with a nice subtle flavor. You can swallow them easily without water and they give you the energy you need.
Excellent gel format, like Turkish delight, very easy to take during exercise, even at high running speeds. The positive aspect is that it does not leave any residue in the packet and you don't have to struggle to squeeze out the entire quantity. It is not necessary to drink water, like with all gels, but it is convenient to take two sips to get rid of the sweet taste.
My impression is that it works a little faster than other gels due to its format. It might also be a placebo effect, due to what the company claims on its website. It contains 25g of carbohydrates and 50mg of salt (19mg of sodium), like most gels. The fuel guide from Maurten is a great help, which tells you roughly how to take its supplements https://www.maurten.com/fuelguide, but if you understand it, you can follow it with any supplement you have. If you participate in races longer than an hour, you should also take electrolytes, as the 19mg it contains is practically nothing. Here, the fuel guide has a gap, as the company does not have a product with electrolytes for the race and it does not mention anywhere that you need to take them separately. Gels with electrolytes that I have tried are neversecond and high5 electrolytes.
Is it worth its money? Definitely not, if you consider that it has the same ingredients as gels that cost even four times less! (see photo) You are purely paying for its format, if you cannot consume something in a more liquid form and its 'super-duper' space formula, which might give you energy five to ten minutes earlier than others. If you don't care about the cost at all, don't try anything else.
I have tried many gels during training and races, from the cheapest to the most expensive. I think this is the top choice. It is worth the money and more. If you think about the money and time you have wasted for performance, an extra 1.5 euros for the gel is of minimal value.
Looking for a high-quality running gel for a mountain winter half marathon, I noticed the rave reviews from users for this particular one. Generally, I only use gels in races as the best possible solution for energy enhancement/replenishment, as I am not fond of using them due to the feeling of thirst and nausea they cause during intense exercise.
The price difference was significant, as were the user's enthusiastic reviews! So, I decided to take a risk and try the hydrogel technology in this race, where I wanted to achieve a good performance. The decision turned out to be 110% correct and fully justified the users who had evaluated it! The gel has a texture similar to Turkish delight, meaning it is semi-solid and can almost be chewed, leaving a very pleasant sensation in the mouth. The usual "side effect" of energy gels, namely nausea, is COMPLETELY absent, and due to its composition, it does NOT require the simultaneous use of water to be properly and quickly absorbed! Personally, I consumed 2/22.5 km, but I believe that with 3, the result would have been even better! The product is excellent, and I will now use it regularly in high-demand races. I highly recommend it, as almost all the users who evaluated it before me did
Wonderful taste, especially the decaffeinated one. You can eat as much as you want, you don't get greedy. The important thing is that you really don't need water! How did we manage all these years with the others.
I believe it is indeed one of the best gels on the market. The price is definitely expensive compared to other products on the market. However, the taste is neutral and the consistency is just right, not too liquidy, so it doesn't get swallowed and "burn" the throat during running. In the classic marathon I ran, I used 4 gels and it was exactly the right amount.
With a particular problem in my stomach, having lost battles with this issue, I found a gel that is truly the best thing I have tried, neutral taste and boost like no other gel I have tried so far
One of the best gels for runners. No need for water when you take it. It acts directly and gives you the energy you need. I only use these in road races.
