Usually, I start by explaining the game's story, but really, from what happened in the game, I only remembered two things at most. But as you read, probably like in other reviews, yes, it was cringe and it excessively glorified Akira Nakai. Alright, moving on. The graphics are amazing. It truly looks like it came out this year. Now, as for the gameplay, it is excessively mediocre. Let's start with the fact that when there is a crash, you literally see a cutscene and loading screen that, yes, the game doesn't stop, and the other person has left you 50 kilometers behind (they must have done it again, but I don't remember). To retry, of course, it throws you out of the race instead of starting it again, and to start, you have to be in a specific position! No, my friend, we don't like where you are. Do a reverse and we'll let you play. Besides that, if you want to do anything while playing, you can't pause, even when playing single player! So, if you're in a race, imagine roughly. Hands on the controller and don't do anything else or else restart (for which you have to do a nice reverse). But to sweeten it for you, it has touge and drag racing. Unfortunately, it doesn't have many cars, but it has plenty of modifications, both exterior and mechanical. You can even upgrade the head gasket. Also, it is the last NFS game that has Toyota. Overall, it is good but not good enough.
So, having played and spent many hours with all the nfs games that have been released for the ps4, it's time to evaluate this one. It is a very good Nfs but it also has a few, albeit "intense," negatives. Firstly, the graphics of the game are amazing and stunning. Especially considering it is a game from 7 years ago. They are so good, where the lights of the streets, shops, etc. illuminate based on the color of the car, due to the rainwater if one observes carefully. The graphics and the garage are very good. The gameplay depends. On one hand, you can enjoy it, but on the other hand, it can be very frustrating. Perhaps they went overboard with the difficulty and realism in some races. It is very annoying that you cannot pause and also very frustrating that you can race for 10 minutes and lose the race because you didn't make the time by 1 or 2 seconds. It is also very annoying that if you crash somewhere, the car gets destroyed and it takes quite some time to restart in some way. Many times, there were moments where I was leading the whole race, even with a distance, and just before the finish line, I crashed and by the time it restarted, everyone had passed me. In a way, the handling was difficult and not so good. However, the races that the game offers are plenty and diverse (some racing, some drifting (here, drifting has many different categories), some with time, some drag, etc.). However, there is no off-road, not even jeeps are sold, imagine that. The customization is very good and fully "car-like" like all the nfs games. The way of upgrading the cars internally is awesome and classic. Now, the story is good, not bad, but not excellent either. The police, if you have a good car, are easy. The sound, like all the NFS games, is amazing. It can wake you up! The sound of the cars is very realistic. Sometimes, you feel like you are driving in reality! Also, very realistic is the fact that depending on the turbo you put in the car, the sound it makes is different! I have no opinion on the multiplayer. PS For the 5 euros I got it from the ps store, it is worth it and more. Today, even up to 20 euros, it is good, but not more. If you are a fan of NFS and haven't gotten it, run and get it!
Apart from the fact that the graphics are very good and that the cars have a lot of customizability, the game is simply bad. The gameplay is mediocre, the "story" is ridiculously dumb and boring (and cringe), and it's just boring.
According to many, Need for Speed has shown a decline, but this particular one is not bad, personally I found it enjoyable. I like its gameplay and its races. I found it very cheap, so it was definitely worth it!
I give it 4 stars only for the story. It's very wordy and to be honest, I don't care about the characters or the story. Other than that, everything is as it should be for an NFS game!! It would be great if it had a few more cars. It's still worth it even now, when not many people are into online gaming.
OK, it doesn't have anything special that sets it apart from other Need for Speed games and other racing games. The graphics are perfect, the gameplay is good, it doesn't have a large collection of cars and there is no variety of events. The police are almost non-existent. The story is terrible and for some reason filmed with live action scenes. Very cringe-worthy and the characters are terrible and non-existent. It is also always online. If you want it, get it from the PS store for 5 euros where it's available.
Very good game
I finished it and got platinum
However....It requires constant internet connection, so that's a little bit of a downside
I would prefer if you could customize the cars much more (like neon, etc.)
But overall, it's good
When you buy it, know that in order to play, you will have to change the language of the play station 4 console to English. If it is in Greek, it doesn't work. Other than that, it is good. We didn't have any particular complaints.
It's the best. It really is worth 15 euros now. Additionally, I believe that NFS 2015 is even better compared to NFS Payback. Now, in terms of customization, it's the best, it has everything. The only downside is that you constantly play at night, which becomes boring and tiresome afterwards
I was speechless from this one!
It brought back the crazy tuning that the Underground had.
On the positive side:
-Very nice tuning
-Top-notch soundtrack! (With many tracks from the classic series)
-Awesome graphics
-The best car list
-The handlings could be better (since when you hit the handbrake, the car magnetizes strangely to the wall...
-The storyline could be improved
-No possibility of pause
-Always online
-No support with updates, etc.
I believe it will be appreciated more in the future when we see worse titles (e.g. Payback)
Let's hope for Underground 3 at some point!
It is a mediocre need for speed. Starting with its positives, I will say that the graphics are fantastic, there are many cars and many things to do, the map is large, and overall it is the classic gameplay that we love from need for speed. On the negative side, however, which are definitely more, the driving sensation is terrible, the story was completely uninteresting, and all these cutscenes made me even more bored. I would say it's only worth it if you find it on sale
It's like a remake of Underground 2. As an owner of all the nfs games and a gamer since the Atari era, I will say that it is by far the worst nfs overall and as a game. The graphics are good, I guess, although it's always night and usually raining. The handling didn't impress me, but okay, I guess I'll get used to it.
The biggest issue is that it can only be played with an internet connection, so for me, that's the biggest flaw.
It's better to buy Project Cars or NFS Rivals. Unless you enjoy "On line" games, then okay, but in my personal opinion, nfs had the best single player, which doesn't exist here. The worst 20 euros I've ever spent.
Very beautiful overall, although it reminds me of underground 2, it doesn't reach it at all! It would be less tiring after a few hours if it was also during the day, not just at night!
I, who have played almost all the NFS games, can say that it is perhaps the third best NFS after Underground 2 and Most Wanted (2005). It is like a refreshed version of UG2 with perfect graphics and a perfect wrap editor. The driving is relatively easy with the drifts and all the related stuff, after all, Need for Speed is the game. Overall, it's a very perfect game and if you're like me, you will spend hours in the wrap editor!
For me, it became boring, it didn't impress me, good game, good graphics, good cars, but I didn't like it, if it was like hot pursuit that I loved this game then I wouldn't stop playing. And generally, I didn't like the underground series and the game is based more on that, so it bothers me too, but of course it's my opinion, as a game, as I said, it's not bad, but the issue for me is perfectly boring, you can compete with others if you are free roam and endless possibilities for car customization.
In the graphics department, this game is a masterpiece, from the textures to the car wraps, to the representation of the environment, it is FLAWLESS. Beyond that, the only additional aspect of the game that makes it unique is its customization depth. Unique sounds for each car, which, it should be noted, change with any modifications such as the engine or exhaust, as they should, several options for the car's exterior appearance (but be careful: not for all cars, for example, while you can change even the mirrors on the 911, on the 458 Italia, only a complete body kit gives you the feeling of change). Of course, we should mention that the greatest variety of changes for all cars is the interior modifications, which, although they count on paper (you can easily reach 1000+ horsepower with your GTR), do not have any significant influence in the game since the A.I is simply unacceptable. For example, in races against Amy, no matter what car you have, it doesn't matter if you're Sonic, she will always be stuck behind you with her RX7 (I think), if not quite ahead of you. And if you crash, everyone in front of you suddenly hits the brakes for some reason so that you can catch up to them... The cut-scenes are considered comical if you're in a good mood or ridiculously awkward if you're not. A big bummer, at least for me, is the monotony of the weather and the environment: Well done, guys at EA, your textures for rain and flares from the headlights, lights, etc. are very nice, but we're tired of dawn and rain... Finally, and most importantly: we need more cars! Adding Ferrari is great, but not at the expense of Audi, guys, or how many other manufacturers whose cars would have adorned the game! (For the record, in the 2012 Most Wanted, you could even drive the Ford Ranger).
In conclusion: If the above observations are addressed in future patches, as EA has promised, the rating goes up. If not, the game is a good addition to someone's collection, but nothing more.
It moves between underground and most wanted, nice story, relatively satisfactory number of cars, the gameplay is at high levels and the sound is really top-notch in every car! But, it needs work... The presence of the police is discreet and you easily escape them for fun, there is no pause in the game, the traffic on the roads is quite average and there is constantly this monotony between night and dawn (they should have kept the weather phenomena like in rivals). However, since the game started to return to where we loved it, it's worth buying.
The closest Need For Speed to Underground 2!!! Ultimate game.. incredible graphics, very good sound etc, Nice Drift and overall Gameplay, good map with 2 mountains, 4 cities connected by highways.. Very strong Story + the best Videos in the Story that have ever come out!!! It's like you're there and they're talking to you.. They have combined reality with the game, simply Unbelievable! It's worth the 40 euros I easily spent.
*The only downside is that it can only be played single player, at least it has online..
*The best Build for cars that has ever existed in Need for Speed at least!! Imagine, I spent 2 hours just customizing the color... Unbelievable mechanical Upgrades, there are 20 to be exact (turbo, engines, brakes, everything)
*It also has some Most Wanted cops set up with speedometers, chasing you, etc.
*Classic random Racers who drift in the mountains, etc. are also included.
*And finally, a large and powerful variety of cars for your Garage (you can have up to 5)
The only - is that it doesn't have split-screen on the same console and you can't press start within the game.
After a long time, a Need For Speed game reminiscent of the old ones. It reminded me of the Underground and Most Wanted eras. Very nice graphics, plenty of cars, and a large-scale customization. The story is expected but quite enjoyable. A clever feature is the garage with a capacity of up to 5 cars, as it forces you to "bond" with the vehicles you acquire. Overall, a very good and enjoyable game.
