This particular book is part of the comprehensive series PERSPECTIVES on PROFICIENCY (Student's Book, Workbook, Companion). The content of these books is complementary, meaning that all the books should be taught in parallel. It is essential that they are taught by a good English teacher. If someone tries to attempt it on their own, they will also need the corresponding Teacher's edition and Guide, perhaps even the audio CDs. My personal assessment is that this series from Burlington Books is excellent.
