It is ideal for dough such as bread, pizza, and tsoureki. However, it is not suitable for small quantities (e.g. margarine) because the hook does not reach the bottom of the bowl, so I have to lift the bowl to do my job.
I have had it for about a month and I am completely satisfied for now at least. I mainly wanted it for doughs and the result in those is something else and in very little time.
Dough for pizza in 1 minute, just as the manual says! If you follow the manufacturer's instructions, you will have a perfect result and VELVETY preparations!!
It is necessary to slightly shake the top part of the dough so that it does not break. (I bought it from an authorized service and it was the first thing they told me)
In response to other users: you can adjust the depth of the attachments so that they can be as far from the bottom of the bowl as you want! Read the manual...
During its operation, I experienced metallic vibrations from the inside. I placed 3mm rubber pads between the two parts and the noise stopped, which is obviously unacceptable. I reserve judgment because it is still early to have a complete picture. For the past 20 days, however, the functionality has been correct. Kenwood KVL4100S ChefXL
I got it for €355. I am very satisfied, I made bread dough, 1.5 kilos, it didn't struggle at all. Sturdy tool, beautified my kitchen. I hope it lasts for many years.
Three years later, it continues to be turbo. Doughs, cakes, brioche, whatever you want, I also got an attachment to make my own minced meat, perfect!
I have had it for a while now, but I am very satisfied with its performance both in bread dough and cake and cream mixtures! It is a heavy and well-made machine! I highly recommend it!
I have it only for 2 days. I expected it to be how it is!!! After extensive research, I chose this specific model and I believe I didn't make a mistake! I like it because it's not made of plastic, it has a very powerful mixer and a large bowl! It may have only 3 attachments, but it has many others that you can gradually buy (although a bit expensive, but it's Kenwood). I don't consider it bulky, it's a kitchen MACHINE, and a simple mixer with a slightly smaller base. We're talking about a 6+ liter bowl, that's enough! I believe it's worth it and more, whether you find it for 300 or 350, although time will tell. One important thing that I didn't know and I saw on the box, after the purchase you can go to Kenwood's website where you can fill in some information it asks for, along with the purchase receipt, and have a 5-year warranty on the motor!!!!! I am one of those who will use it on a daily basis, so I will come back with new comments!
My best purchase.... I couldn't wait to find it at a satisfactory price... I think that just being Kenwood is worth it,... I would like it to have more accessories inside but the ones it has are fine, the basics do the job!
Just received it. Owner of a kitchen aid artisan, I bought the kdl4100s for 300 euros on Black Friday, as they have a big difference. So comparison is unavoidable. First impression, quite plastic, over 3 kilos lighter, bigger bowl, first speed quite low to avoid spilling ingredients unless it has a cover, adjustment of the bowl's mixing tool individually and not on the mechanism, the bowl doesn't have a handle, it's not as sturdy. Just made a cake easily without making a mess, the lid is practical, motor speed is very good, it doesn't move at full speed. I will come back for dough.
So, I made dough with 650ml liquid and 1.2kg flour, easy kneading without difficulty with a light shake of the top part, logical, the whole machine is stable on the counter, speed starts at five and then goes to two or one.
Overall, for the 299 euros I bought it for, it's worth it and more. I don't have an opinion on durability
Excellent machine and very powerful. I got it on sale for 350 euros. It came with the 3 basic beaters (wire, hook, whisk) and the blender. The 1200W is more than enough. I believe it's not worth considering that 1200W is not enough, as Kenwood also produces models with higher wattage. It is more than enough. Its bowl is large and easy to clean. The only thing that surprised me and I looked into it to see what was happening, is that the arm makes a slight noise when kneading dough, but it's understandable because it undergoes high pressure. I think it's the best choice for someone who is not interested in the many accessories that are provided with larger and more expensive models, as they are likely to be used minimally or not at all.
Very good machine, it has been kneading every 2 to 3 days for 12 months now...very good machine! In order to prevent the dough from sticking to the bottom, it requires a small adjustment to the beaters with a simple wrench!
1.5 years later, 2.5 in total, and the machine is superb....usage is similar to before, consistently without any issues.
It is a very powerful machine with 1200W, sturdy and does not get tired - it kneads 2 kilograms of bread very easily. Very good blender that comes with the purchase of the kitchen machine. Whoever wants can also buy additional accessories. I recommend it!
