  It is "very plastic" and especially its "glass". It is beautiful and good in size not huge like a lantern. It has a hole at the bottom in the "glass" and the bulb comes outwards. Maybe they did it like this to fit a large bulb. I don't know if it is actually suitable for outdoor use where it will get wet. I would be afraid to put it outside. Personally, I wanted it for my front door in an indoor space. I wouldn't say don't get it if you don't mind that it's plastic.
