For a cup of coffee, I can't imagine anything better. I won't go into technical details. For me, it was a huge improvement from the already good coffee I was making with the Aeropress. It seems to prefer coarser ground coffee.

Did you find this review helpful?I have the Melitta Aromaboy for 20 days now that I am writing this review.. really in a few words whoever wants an economical single cup coffee maker that extracts all the coffee aromas exceptionally and has the right temperatures is one of the most Value for money choices.. even though it is not on the list of SCA certified coffee makers I can say that even so I found it an excellent choice for this money and I did not expect it to reach the taste levels you get from pour over something that to achieve a perfect cup of coffee with the v60 requires a barista kettle with temperature control and a technique until you achieve the perfect coffee.. here we now have a mini machine that saves space and is easy to clean...!! below I will mention some of the positives and some negatives.. but I will also give you some tips to achieve a delightful cup of coffee with exceptional aromas..!!
the positives:
* makes excellent coffee* has good extraction temperatures at 95-96C
* the base keeps the coffee warm for 40 minutes
* easy to clean
the negatives?
* the build quality is not the best, it needs a little attention and the glass carafe handle is not so stable and it doesn't seem like it will hold (I may be wrong) but with a little care I think it will be okay.. the only good thing is that you can find a small carafe or a cup that sits right on the plastic dripper generally apart from that it doesn't have anything else negative..
here I will give you some maintenance tips and for a perfect cup of coffee.
*1) have a precision scale to know the grams of coffee and water is very important
*2) use good quality freshly ground coffee and always store it in an airtight container like a tightvac even though it is ideal to buy coffee beans and a manual grinder I use the timemore C2
*3) use filtered or bottled water it is very important not to fill the machine with salts..
*4) make sure to descale every 2-3 months with Melitta bio liquid to always keep the machine in perfect condition.. do not skip this step because the machine will not work properly afterwards..
*to achieve the most enjoyable filter coffee use melitta natura filters and cut them in the shape of the melitta 100 filters do not use white filters they spoil the taste of the coffee... after many tests melita natura is one of the best. it extracts all the coffee aromas correctly..
*when making coffee leave the lid of the machine open and at about 45sec when the water is being extracted gently stir with a spoon 5 times so you will have a cup with all the coffee aromas!!
and for those who enjoy filter coffee and want more intensity add 15g of coffee and water to 1.5 in the middle that is before 2 there you will have an intense full-bodied coffee with intensity you can also enjoy it cold!!!
for the money this machine costs it is really excellent.. you will not find a cheaper single cup that makes such good coffee..!! because the most important thing in coffee is the temperature at which the extraction takes place.. something that Melitta has taken care to do correctly..
I recommend it only to those who want coffee for one or two cups respectively..

Only good for one coffee, and you have to be very careful because it's small and you risk spilling everything... without a valve (so it drips if it hasn't drained) with a lot of noise compared to a Fest that I've had for over 5 years... It makes good coffee but that's about it! Overrated by 1000%. Give €25-30 and get another one that has it all!

The jug does not appear to be glass but rather good quality plastic, but it is easy to clean.

Did you find this review helpful?It makes very good coffee and overall I am satisfied with the purchase and I believe it is worth it as a coffee maker for one person. For now, I am using the large filters that I had left (I just cut them a little), but when they run out, I will try its own filters. If I can then edit, I will come back.
It is much smaller than I expected. Having read in the description that it makes 2 cups of coffee, I assumed that the carafe holds 400-500 ml, but it actually holds 250ml.
The holder is not somehow supported on the coffee maker, but simply placed on top of the carafe. When the coffee is done, you pull both out together, remove the holder, and then pour the coffee into the cup. Personally, it doesn't bother me much, but I mention it because it is different from what one might be used to.
Edit: I also tried its own filters. Very convenient in size. I didn't notice any difference in taste compared to the previous ones I had - they are equally good.

I have the beige model (more vintage appearance) which unfortunately is no longer available at Skroutz but you can find it with a quick search on Google. I love good filter coffee and I admit it is difficult to find, even in stores (where they usually serve you heavy/bitter/reheated coffee). Moreover, you can understand and enjoy the good and aromatic filter coffee without milk, because that's how you taste its true flavor. If you have to add milk to make it drinkable, they have served you garbage.
I used to make my coffee at home with a filter and the pour over V60 method. But it's a bit cumbersome to have to stand carefully over the cup every morning, paying attention to all the details to make a successful coffee (water temperature, dosage, water extraction method, etc.) - which, by the way, is not easy to achieve. So recently, I decided to upgrade the process with a machine.
To go back to the Aromaboy. After extensive research, I discovered Melitta, a German company that specializes purely in coffee products and machines and has been around since 1908. So I thought they must know more than the other mainstream companies that make five thousand other household appliances. I learned that the Aromaboy is a classic bestseller in Germany since its release in 1979 and is the standard choice for single-person households. I have read countless reviews about how good the coffee tastes with this little thing. Because it is designed to make perfect coffee for a large cup (around 300ml) and it does it much better than the classic 10-cup coffee maker, which is designed to make good coffee for several cups, not just one. And think about it. If you drink one cup of coffee at home in the morning, why would you have a regular coffee maker taking up space in the kitchen and have to wash a large glass carafe every day just for one cup of coffee?
As soon as you hold the box in your hands, you will say, "Are you kidding me?" It is really tiny (height 20cm, width 15cm, depth 13cm) with a small glass carafe of 300ml, you will think it's a fake toy for kids.
And now let's talk about the advantages and disadvantages of using it.
+ It makes very good coffee.
+ It makes your everyday coffee carefree. Really. The coffee is ready in two minutes, you can easily rinse the carafe after each use, and the whole process is a breeze.
+ It is inexpensive compared to the money you would spend on a larger coffee maker from a well-known brand.
+ Great choice for vacation homes, households that don't drink filter coffee frequently, and even as a gift to give.
+ It takes up minimal space compared to a classic coffee maker.
+ If the carafe ever breaks, you can find a replacement.On the downside:
- It doesn't have extra features like aroma intensity selection and programming, but in my opinion, it doesn't need them.
- It uses size 1 filters, which are smaller than the size 4 and 2 filters you find in supermarkets. But no problem because no matter what size you have, you can cut it with scissors and everything will be fine.
- It is made of plastic and its size resembles a toy, so it makes you think it is expensive for what you see in front of you.
- It says it makes 2 cups of coffee, but the 300ml is actually 2 small tea cups or one large coffee cup. So if you want to drink a second cup of coffee, you have to make it again.
- It keeps the coffee warm for only 40 minutes, then it turns off so that the taste of the coffee does not alter. But this is not an issue if you only make one cup of coffee, it means you want to drink it at that moment.Overall, I think it is the perfect solution for singles.
