Description
Forty-five years of the autobiographical author's life unfold to embrace Olympiacos every time it dominates its eternal rival, Panathinaikos. The protagonist of the narrative embraces well-known real heroes, completely unknown individuals, or even fictional figures, combining the tangible with the imaginary. Although he is one, he carefully and occasionally changes faces, familiarizes himself with different identities, and extends to the limits of his desires and the inclinations of thousands of others. In Giorgos Kentrotis' book "45 Years Scoring Goals against Vazelos," Olympiacos and its victories over Panathinaikos are transformed into a rhetorical vehicle with the central goal of proving the participation of all, but all fans in rhetorical and dialectical processes. Given that fans try to judge or support an argument, support themselves, or make accusations and reproaches against others, the author defends the principles of applied rhetoric along with the Aristotelian view that the work of art is only the evidence and that everything else is merely complementary. In the 468 pages of the book, the fanatical atmosphere of the competitive past is exposed in exhaustive detail, the ethical code of players and figures from other eras, moments of glory and arrogance, while references to football characters who marked the glorious Piraeus team and lead it straight to its legendary 45-year period are not omitted.
