  I had a Belkin for years, quite plastic but very reliable, it lasted 7-8 years, until recently the fan started making noise. I wanted something of higher quality and based on the comments I read both in Greece and abroad, I ended up with this Thermaltake. You pay a bit more but the build quality is evident. Also, the fan is quite silent even when it's on maximum. My laptop is a 16-inch LG (approximately 38x26cm) and the stand is quite large for it, I didn't calculate it correctly and it takes up a lot of space on my desk (Its dimensions are approximately 47x36cm, so it can accommodate larger than 17" laptops. The packaging states 19")

  Yes, the construction is good and it is very important to adjust the fan intensity as well as the other light settings. BUT for 60 euros, it is definitely overpriced. It should have cost a maximum of 30-35 euros for the base.

  Also, from the beginning, the fan made a strange noise (as if its oil had dried up). I made a mistake by not replacing it immediately, and because I know how to do such repairs, I thought I would simply open it up and put some oil on the fan to stop the noise.

  To my surprise, I discovered that YOU CANNOT PUT OIL ON THE FAN!

  It is designed in a way that you have to break it or replace it. Which means that after a few years of use, it will be thrown away if you can't find another identical fan, which doesn't seem to be very easy to find from what I saw.

  Overall, the base is good but for 60 euros, not being able to change/repair the fan is a big drawback.

  On 2 laptops, a 15-inch and a 17-inch, I tried it from a USB, and not 2 as they say it needs. It is quite big, on a 15-inch laptop, you have 3-4 centimeters of space in front and back and 2-3 on the sides. On the 17-inch, you have 2-3 centimeters in front and back, and about a centimeter on the sides. It does a decent job as I managed to lower temperatures on the package and CPUs by 10 degrees and the GPU by 7-8 degrees. Moreover, on 2 laptops with the worst cooling systems available, an HP 15 i5 8300h 1050ti and an HP Omen 17 i7 8750h 1070. The best part is that the keyboard no longer overheats when you touch it!
