  In the automatic mode, it does all the processing by itself, speed, etc. In speed settings 1-2-3, the fan speed is not bothersome, but at 4, it is. It collects dust, strange odors, hair, and other particles from the air; after 15 days of use, the white filter showed that it makes a difference. I was not bothered again by symptoms like eye irritation, sneezing, or odors in the air from pollution. A bit expensive for what it does. It could cost less in retail.

  In seven months, the air quality has improved; the filter needs cleaning with a vacuum cleaner every fifteen days, and the amount of dust and hair it collects from the air is incredible, what we breathe. The result is that the cough has stopped, eye pain, airborne particles; I will upload the next photo showing what the filter collects and how effectively the vacuum cleaner presents it.

  Even today, what it ABSORBS from the air is indescribable; what are we breathing? I wonder. It really works.

  June 2024: I don’t know the reason, but it made a rather annoying noise.

  It was delivered to the service center, and in 24 hours it was fixed; I was informed that the internal blades were the issue, they were replaced, everything is fine, repair cost zero!

  4 stars only because it doesn't connect to Wi-Fi. Apart from that, the air purifier is perfect. It is quiet up to 3/4 speed, but at 4/4 it sounds like a turbine. I use it on a daily basis at 3/4 speed and I have noticed a significant improvement in the air quality. I don't know about smokers and fireplaces, but when cooking something that can have a strong smell or burn, I set it to 4/4 and in half an hour, the smell is gone (personally, the noise doesn't bother me). I can't speak objectively about dust since I have construction going on next door and I keep the windows closed most of the time, but I have noticed a decrease to some extent.

  My space is small, so it definitely does the job! However, unfortunately, as other users have mentioned, its filters are not durable! They always cost 69 euros plus 7 euros for shipping! That means with an additional 30-40 euros, you can get a new machine from another company! HOWEVER, the truth is that this specific HEPA filter is the best there is, so personally, I will pay if it's worth it. I just didn't know it had such a cost when I bought the machine.

  Also, as another comment here mentioned, the screw came loose after 6 months, and it made a ticking sound when turned on. The company, of course, told me to send it back at my own expense, but they would cover the return costs. The staff was very polite and knowledgeable.

  In the end, I watched a video on YouTube where I followed the steps, and in 5 minutes, I had fixed it myself (you just loosen and tighten a screw on the fan, that was the ticking sound), and it works like new again.

  Otherwise, for me living in a studio apartment, it is ESSENTIAL to have it, although this depends on how much one respects oneself and their space.

  EDIT*: The screw came loose again on the blade, so it should be considered that every 2-4 months, the machine will need to be opened and tightened.

  EDIT 2: The last time, I tightened the screw much tighter than the previous times, and it hasn't come loose for a long time, so tighten it confidently and firmly.

  Truly miraculous for homes with smokers! As long as the smoker is next to the air purifier, it works perfectly and doesn't bother the others with their smoke.   I closed the windows, turned it on, and started smoking in the living room kitchen area from noon. Normally in the evening, I wouldn't be able to sit due to the smoke, the smell, the eye irritation, the bad atmosphere, etc. On the contrary, nothing really bothered me. I went to sleep without opening anything... in the morning, the atmosphere in the living room kitchen didn't smell like smoke, it wasn't suffocating, okay it wasn't exactly fresh, something like a closed house, but it's fine.

  The machine has been working continuously for 2 months now, I also put a light on the sensor it has so it doesn't go into sleep mode and everything is great.

  As for the cost of the filters, 80 to 90 euros per year... what can I say, it comes out to 6 to 7 euros per month, 3 fewer coffees per month.

  It doesn't work miracles, you still need to ventilate the house, but for me, it neutralizes the smoke and you don't have to sit with wide-open windows in the winter.

  Regarding the air purification, it is quite good BUT overrated. The problem is that its filters have a short lifespan (8-10 months MAX before the filter change indicator starts to light up - I was informed by the company that the filter change indicator system is timestamp-based, so it lights up at specific hours of usage) in spaces with smokers or humidity, and they cost as much as a new ionizer from another company.

  Also, something very important! When used in a smoking area, after 3-4 months, the air it releases starts to smell. Practically, this means that if there are 2 smokers in an 80sqm house, in order to have consistently clean air, the filters need to be changed every quarter. So, do your calculations BEFORE purchasing it.

  Purchased for a 50sqm space that has a big problem in the winter from the fireplaces in Athens. Also, occasionally the house fills with cigarette smoke from visitors.
  The machine does an excellent job, but give it time. I put it on level 3 fan speed and within 30-45 minutes it has cleaned the entire space. The atmosphere is clearly lighter and cleaner. It is certain that it cleans, there is no doubt about it.
  The more it works, the more effectively it cleans, just make sure there are no cracks in the house and smoke constantly coming in.
  Level 3 fan speed is quite fast and tolerable in terms of noise. I don't use level 4 at all, it hasn't been necessary and I don't want it because it makes noise.
  Apart from the 50sqm living room, I also move it to the bedrooms before sleep when the atmosphere is heavy with smoke, and it really does a perfect job in 20 minutes.

  Overall, a very commendable machine for the price of 185 euros that I bought it for.

  Also, now with the African dust, it does an exceptionally good job.

  I bought this product seven months ago to clean the air during winter from the fireplaces that everyone in my area lights up, and it's like a forest is burning outside my house every night. Also, for summer, for fires and dust from Africa. I don't smoke and I don't use it for cooking smells. The first month it started making an annoying noise in sleep mode. I had to take it to the service center twice, which refused to replace it, but they managed to fix it the second time. I was just lucky that it was close to my house. The service was polite though. In terms of cleaning and effectiveness, I noticed the following: Following the cleaning and filter replacement instructions to the letter, only the first month gave me the feeling that it made a difference in the air quality of the room. However, I did not use a particle counter. What is certain though is that it does absolutely nothing for odors. During winter, with a guest who smoked, I used it at full power for several hours and it didn't get rid of the smell at all. On the contrary, it dispersed the smell of smoke uniformly everywhere due to the fan. In another case, during winter, I forgot to close a window for a short time at night and smoke from the fireplaces came in, but again, it did absolutely nothing. I conclude that the activated charcoal in the filters is not very "activated" and does not do the job it should. It's the same as those black strips they put in air conditioners, it just has a larger surface area to cover the front of the machine. For a smoker with a reduced sense of smell, it may be acceptable. For me, it is not, especially considering that the filters are quite expensive for them not to be perfectly effective. It has five power levels, from sleep mode which is completely silent to full power which sounds like an airplane. The plastic and overall build quality is above average but not exceptional. It also lacks a remote control. The machine is overrated and I am being lenient with the three stars.

  I have it in my living room, which is about 35 square meters, where we smoke a lot. Cigarettes, e-cigarettes, chaos. Under normal conditions, if there is no open window in the room, it easily becomes smoky. With the Winix, you simply leave it on Auto in the room and as soon as it detects heavy air, it starts working harder on its own.

  It's funny because we have reached the point of calling it the "cigarette cop" since as soon as someone lights a cigarette, its sensor turns red as if it noticed and starts cleaning the air faster.

  I don't have equipment to measure particles, so I can't give you more scientific impressions, but what I know is that you simply turn it on and it actually does the job, it doesn't even let smoke form. Especially in winter, it's perfect because you don't have to constantly open a window and get cold whenever you want to get rid of the smoke.

  It has 4 fan speed levels. Level 1 is really quiet, level 2 is comfortably tolerable, level 3 is audible and level 4 is like three times stronger than level 3. It is indeed very noisy, but when you have it on Auto, it never goes there. You can only use it in manual mode.

  It has the so-called Plasmawave, which compared to a regular ionizer, it produces both negative charged particles (like conventional ionizers) and positive charged particles simultaneously. Winix claims that this way it doesn't produce any ozone - I can't know that. There is an option, of course, to deactivate it if you don't want it.

  The smell of smoke doesn't completely disappear quickly, even though there is no smoke in the room, but over time it does eliminate it.

  The biggest negative for me, which annoys me and maybe I would have made a different choice if I knew it from the beginning, is that it has a light sensor to detect if the room it is in doesn't have light, so it assumes you are sleeping and automatically enters Sleep mode, which means it only operates at level 1 and activates the LEDs so they don't bother. Personally, I don't agree with this since when you want to watch a movie in a dark room, it goes into Sleep mode and doesn't operate at the intensity it should. I would like an option to deactivate the light sensor, but it doesn't exist.

  Overall, I am very satisfied, it does its job and more, and the air you breathe is truly clean. It is also perfect to operate it simultaneously with the air conditioner so that the recycled air is also cleaned.

  Incredible machine!

  I ended up with this one after researching for my professional space (ground floor, 35 sqm, open space) and after using it for about 1 year, I can say that it is one of the best purchases I have made.

  Quiet, easily portable, with 4 intensity levels, automatic adjustment according to the levels of dirty air in the space, bright indication for air quality (blue, orange, red), and the ability to program the end of use (1 hour, 4 hours, 8 hours).

  I have tested it in various scenarios (smoke, dust from outside, etc.) and it has responded immediately both in reading air quality and in adjusting intensity. The space may be closed and non-smoking, however, due to proximity to a house, cooking smells were often transferred, which were completely eliminated with the cleaner.

  In conclusion, a perfectly successful purchase, especially in times of the coronavirus! 1 year without any complaints whatsoever!

  The box contains 4 carbon filters (1 every 3 months) and 1 HEPA, which are sufficient for 1 year.

  Relatively bulky, but much lighter than expected for its size.

  Air intake from the front, output from the top, so you can place it near a wall.

  Filter installation is very easy, as well as operating it with the buttons on top.

  At the lowest setting, the noise is tolerable, but if you are in the same room, it is not nonexistent. Definitely lower than an air conditioner.

  You can put it in night mode where the fan speed and noise are further reduced (almost nonexistent) and the LEDs turn off.

  Placed in a 16 m² room connected to a hallway, bathroom, and another room:

  - It reduced PM2.5 from 16 μg/m³ to 1 μg/m³ in 2 hours (measured with a special meter)
  - From PM2.5 100 μg/m³ due to cooking smoke, it reduced it to 15 μg/m³ in 1 hour

The noise at high intensity is loud, but generally at levels 2 to 3 it is okay. The work it does is valuable.   Very good tool. The filter fills with dust within two weeks, even though it is not placed in a smoking house. I use it for the fireplace as well, and it really does the job.
  I usually have the plasmawave deactivated because some claim that it releases (even a little) ozone.
