Digital audio signal converter to analog via RCA ports.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
I bought it to experiment with my Samsung TV and my old Sony HiFi with 3 speakers (right/left and 1 bass). The TV only has an optical output. The HiFi only has an analog input.
I connected the converter with an optical cable to the TV and on the HiFi side with a 3.5mm to RCA plug that was connected to the left/right channel of the converter.
Although a 5v transformer was included, I preferred to power the converter with a "power supply USB cable" that "steals" the voltage of 5v directly from a USB port on the TV. This also has the advantage that when I turn off the TV, the power supply to the converter is automatically cut off, as indicated by the LED that turns off.
Attention: in order to play correctly, you should select the correct encoding of the digital audio signal in the TV settings. It should be in PCM format (not Dolby or similar). Those users who gave bad ratings probably did not take this step.
My TV gives me the option to play simultaneously from the TV speakers AND from the optical output. However, I do not recommend this because there is a very slight delay in the optical output, resulting in speeches being heard almost with an echo.
Also, keep in mind that with this setup, controlling the volume from the TV remote control usually does not allow us to increase or decrease the volume from the remote control, and the sound is fixed at one level. Adjustments will have to be made from the HiFi side.
I am satisfied with the experiment and will use it for now. It is a good temporary and inexpensive solution for those who have not yet purchased a soundbar.
Within 15 days it burned out. I measured the power supply and it doesn't provide voltage. I replaced the power supply with another one, 5V/2A like the manufacturer's, and it doesn't work. The blue LED doesn't even turn on. I suspect that the power supply "went out" and took the converter with it.
It does what it promises; I connected it to the TV from optical out to audio in on the sound system and it works perfectly! Cheap and reliable solution
Good evening, I bought this product for the conversion from an old amplifier to a new television. I plugged it in at 3 o'clock in the afternoon for 2 minutes to test it, then I turned off the amplifier and left. At 10 in the evening, I went to play some music and nothing happened; the light that indicates whether it works or not stopped. I tried another charger in case this one burned out, but nothing. So, in just 1 minute of working, it burned out. It's heartbreaking
It works but it's a piece of junk, it doesn't produce bass, you have no control over the volume, so no. But if you want to use headphones because your TV doesn't have a jack, then it's okay
Terrible construction!! Completely fake. I went to plug in the fiber optic cable and the plastic entry broke!
I bought it to connect my TV to an amplifier using optical fiber. It does exactly what it says.
Excellent, to connect headphones to a TV that does not have an audio output. If you want to listen loudly, you will also need an amplifier - preamplifier - for headphones.
Very good, I connected it very easily to the amplifier and TV and there is no problem or sound distortion. I highly recommend it!!
Really a very good device does exactly what you expect without any problem. Connected to a 2018 LG smart TV and a Sony home cinema. The sound is really crystal clear without any buzz as mentioned in some other reviews. Even the 5.1 works normally, which I did not expect. I have been using it on a daily basis for the last 4 months without any issues!!!
Very good product so far.
For power supply, I have connected it myself via USB from the TV and not with the power supply included in the package.
I don't have any noise.
I have connected it to a XIAOMI Mi TV P1 50" TV with an old amplifier that has RCA inputs.
In the TV settings, I have set it to PCM and adjust the volume with the remote control.
For anything different, I will come back as I have been using it for a few days.
I bought two...and both were defective...one of them only produced sound when you slightly moved the optical fiber input, but it would lose contact when it returned...poor construction...I bought the Nedis one for €14 and it did the job...Nedis RCA / Toslink female - 2x RCA female (ACON2509BK)...I do not recommend it
It has a metal casing. It does exactly what it says. I tried it with a toslink digital signal from my LG TV. It converts the sound from Netflix, etc. It doesn't have any noise
It doesn't produce sound... Very significant loss of volume (very significant indeed) but also of sound quality. Now, with 5€... what were you expecting?
With its power supply (or any other 5V power supply, I have tried about 10 others for mobile phones, universal, etc.), it makes a lot of noise. It needs a good switching power supply with grounding (like the ATX ones that computers have) to eliminate the noise. So, if you have the ability to connect it to a computer, it works great, both with optical fiber and coaxial.
I connected it from my smart TV to the aux input of the amplifier. It works fine, except that you have to manually adjust the sound volume from the amplifier. The sound intensity is not supported by the TV's computer.
The first one I ordered didn't work, so I sent it back. The seller served me in three days, the other one arrived and I connected it in the afternoon. It worked fine with both the optical and coaxial cables and in the socket. However, in the evening when I plugged it back in, it short-circuited and tripped the circuit breaker. Luckily, I have surge protectors on my sockets, so nothing got damaged. The seller told me it's the cable's fault, so I changed it, but still, I don't know what's going on. These fake machines from China are not reliable. If you try it, make sure to use a surge protector on the socket. I've been making connections for so many years and this is the first time I see a 5v power adapter tripping the circuit breaker!
The product is affordable, small in size, and very easy to connect. Attention, it does not have an optical fiber in the box
Yes!!! It works perfectly. It does what we ask for. From the AUX output, we now need to connect it to an aux line input for full sound performance. I have tried it alone and it gave me 100w out of the 600w that I have available in the speaker. You need to connect the AUX that it provides to an aux line input for FULL power!!!! Tested 100% for performance. (You can find aux line input in a sound amplifier or DJ mixer UNLESS YOU ARE LUCKY and have it pre-installed as an AUX LINE input) I personally bought it for my TV that has an optical output to give sound to a 600w BT speaker that only had an AUX input, but not an aux line input. And I tried it with a DJ mixer. The experiment worked, but there was a lot of noise.
It is very affordable but I found it useless in the end. For those who buy it to connect their TV to speakers and need sound conversion from Netflix application, it fails to convert and produces a terrible noise. It only works for sound conversion from TV signal.
It promises what it says without any problems.
Cheap construction where the power plug does not fit properly. That's why it loses one star.
I bought it for around 8.00 euros. Everything was fine...
After a month, it started acting up! The LED would flicker and of course, the sound would stop. Every now and then, I had to unplug it and plug it back in! I told an electronics store about it and they told me to return it. I returned it with great difficulty and they always give me another one as a replacement. This one doesn't work AT ALL. The LED doesn't even light up, nothing. I put it in the cabinet with the useless items for recycling later. WASTED MONEY...
It is the solution for converting optical output to conventional 3.5 and RCA for speaker connection. Power can also be supplied from the USB port of the device (TV) attention the package does not include "optical cable"
The product is excellent!!
From what I see in the same code "Scroutz" there are 2 versions, one with a power supply, USB cable, and optical fiber cable, and one version without a power supply, with only a USB cable, without an optical fiber cable.
I bought the one with the power supply, but I bought a separate optical fiber cable because the one in the package seemed very fake.
The result? Incredible sound quality and 5.1 surround support.
From the optical fiber output of the TV, I connected both RCA cables to an old home theater. Wherever you find the correct 5.1 source, it transfers all the information from the optical cable to the converter and then to the 2 RCA cables. I really didn't expect the 5.1 system to work.
Netflix movies are incredible, sound from YouTube is superb, sound from PS4 games is unreal!
The only downside I have noticed so far with Vfm is that when switching from TV to internet and vice versa, and when turning on the TV, it hits the speakers. If you forget and have the volume up, it can even burn the subwoofer.
It seems like a reliable device, I have had it for three months and it works fine. It comes without the audio input cable and it would also be good to give it power from a charger that has a USB output or a transformer that outputs 5vdc, my friend.
I am coming back after a year because suddenly it started to have gaps in its operation and the second one I ordered broke the plug as soon as I tried to connect it. Unbelievable? But yes, my friend. Two out of two.
The product is affordable, small in size, and with very easy connectivity you achieve the desired result!
It does exactly what it says. The sound from the smart TV goes to your amplifier. Easily and simply.
Attention, it does not have an optical fiber in the package. Calculate an additional 3 euros.
It is made of aluminum and it seems to have a sturdy construction! It came with a USB cable for power and an RCA to female jack. It is worth buying, especially for the price!
UPDATE 28/2/2020
I am providing sound from the TV's optical output to the amplifier, and when I haven't switched the TV to optical audio output, it produces a noise through the speakers, like electricity. Other than that, it works fine, it might be the TV's fault!
The converter was received immediately - within 2 days, considering the distance (Rhodes - N. Ilia).
The converter works as it should without a power supply (only with USB power and optical fiber), connected to the PS4 PRO with speakers.
Finally, for an issue that arose with the RCA cable - female 3.5mm, the store promptly offered to replace it upon my email (during non-working hours), without any additional charge.
Thank you very much.
Ok for its price, but sometimes there are interferences and bombs are created. So you need to disconnect the power and reconnect it or remove the optical fiber and put it back in. It should be noted that the optical fiber cable is not included and you need to purchase it separately.
I use it to connect external speakers with amplification to the television. Good sound performance despite the transformation in general.
It does what it promises just fine. Try powering it with an external 2A power supply if you have issues with the TV's USB. Nevertheless, it works perfectly. A reliable solution for playback from optical fiber to analog system
Ideal for connecting an old stereo to a new TV without RCA. Good sound and the surround works properly.
