The regular red Lavazza is much better with a distinct flavor that doesn't bother like in other brands. I don't know about everyday use (it depends on your taste), but if you want to serve guests, it is recommended compared to the regular Lavazza if you don't want to give them plain coffee but something more flavorful.

The coffee maker also plays a big role. I have 2 Bialetti and one Pezzeti. In the second one with a silicone gasket (not a rubber one that burns and ruins the coffee), it comes out perfect, as long as you know how (not with a high flame, you need to be on top, learn how to prepare the burner correctly by hitting it separately, with the first extraction).

The coffee is definitely not Lavazza Qualità Oro. I have been drinking this coffee for years and know its taste, texture, and aroma well. The fact that coffee prices have risen significantly pushed me to search on Skroutz to see if I could find something more affordable. So I ordered from this particular store. Unfortunately, the coffee:
- had a different texture and color, it looks like it is noticeably coarser and darker
- had no aroma at all. zero! not even when I opened the package. Neither "raw" nor in the cup.
- the taste was completely indifferent, utterly tasteless coffee.

I should note that the packaging was intact and the expiration date was a year later.

I bought a new one from the supermarket to compare. In the photos I am uploading, you can see the comparison; the lighter and more finely ground coffee is from the supermarket. This black thing next to it is the product I am reviewing. We went for cheaper options but in the end, we were fooled, so it's better to stay away!

  It has become my most common choice for coffee, after many trials, due to its nice taste, moderate intensity, and relatively low price. It is quite coarsely ground by default, so it requires a good amount of pressure in the coffee machine's slot to achieve the correct flow and the ideal result in terms of taste and density. I no longer enjoy coffee "outside" because I haven't found a place where the coffee is preferable to what I make at home. I would say that taste-wise, it is very similar to Illy Espresso Normal, with the difference being that Illy has a more authentic coffee flavor, while Oro has a very smooth sweetness in its taste, something fruity I would say that resembles banana (it sounds funny, but that's what it reminds me of). However, the result is always very good, and since I can find it in the supermarket for €5 to €5.5, and sometimes even on sale for €4, I prefer it compared to Illy, which you can find in the supermarket for €11 and rarely goes on sale for €9.

  Edit 20/11/2021: I am making an update to the review for information. I have noticed that in the past year or so, this particular coffee has changed its grind from the factory to an even coarser one, resulting in the coffee flowing very quickly no matter how much pressure you apply to the slot, and thus not being able to extract 100% of its flavor. Of course, with enough pressure, the result is almost the same, but it is easier to end up with watery coffee if you don't pay attention. Also, if you switch coffee brands frequently and apply the same pressure as you do with other coffees, this one will produce a very strong coffee because it will flow very slowly. In combination with the fact that I don't find it on sale as often as other coffees, I am changing my rating to 4.5/5. A good alternative, which I believe will be enjoyable for those who like this particular coffee but don't want such a coarse grind that causes issues, is the Yellow Bourbon from Buondi.

  Test immediately after Lavazza Rossa, as soon as you open the package you try to smell the aroma, which is the aroma? nowhere. Then, when it's cold, there is no taste at all, just a slight acidity (due to arabica). No aromas or taste complexities. Only for those who want their coffee light like a rinse.

  At home, I have settled on the coffee I want to drink, which is the Hausbrandt Espresso Gourmet Columbus. However, at work, because of the traditional coffee break, I chose Lavazza oro, which is more economical. It has a very good aroma and a decent body. Personally, I make it as a Freddo and it is quite strong without being overly bitter. It leaves a pleasant aftertaste. I consider it to be a good value for money.
