It simply does everything, baking, frying, cooking, oven. All in one vessel, healthy and tasty. A vessel for a lifetime with the right management. For some negative comments you write, you probably don't know what vessel you are buying. The cast iron requires special care and management and yes, it is VERY heavy. If you are lazy or consider cooking a chore, this vessel is not for you.
My first cast iron skillet and I wonder why I didn't get it all these years and wasted money on non-stick, teflon, and other nonsense...
A frying pan that changed the way I cook... Specifically, the pan is indeed very heavy, difficult to handle for a woman, especially in caring for it after use... I did exactly as mentioned in various videos and in the instructions for seasoning... The steak did not stick, and it is impressive how easily the temperature is distributed throughout the pan and maintained for a long time, so be careful with the temperatures you choose; to find it, start with a low temperature and gradually increase... in case of high temperature in the pan, remove it from the heat... It also changed the way I cooked meats since regular frying pans require different usage and they kept getting damaged... I believe the meats have a better taste, at least that's what I understood after considerable use of it compared to a regular pan... I hope I helped.
Favourite item in my kitchen, works like a charm, super high quality, food cooks great, only drawback is it needs proper maintenance. Its not something you can just throw in the sink and leave it there.
The best frying pan one can have. It takes time. It requires care, regular oiling, and seasoning in the oven on its own. It may stick in the beginning, but over time it becomes better than Teflon. The best fried egg and the best steak. If you learn it well, it will reward you.
You need to learn it, once you learn how to clean it and how to take care of it, you will have it for a lifetime, you can restore it to good condition no matter what, as long as you put effort into it!
The only negative thing I have noticed is its increased weight, but otherwise the advantages are so many that I would hardly go back to a non-cast iron pan!
A frying pan that lasts a lifetime and more with proper maintenance. Fantastic product!!!
It is the second product I have purchased from this specific store, the order came in a very well-packaged and in a very fast time with instructions and the purchase receipt inside the package. The first one was the Lodge Dutch oven with the lid that also serves as a frying pan. Amazing construction, no comparison to non-stick pans with coating. The food becomes delicious no matter what it is, from soup to fried potatoes, it reminds me of grandma's potatoes in the village. It is very easy to clean because nothing sticks to it, as long as you have followed some rules for washing and storing the product after cooking (washing with hot water, wiping with paper, and greasing with oil using a paper towel). The prices are a bit high, but it is for a lifetime, hence why you get what you pay for.
I also had my doubts about this particular product, but after just 2 cooking sessions, steaks and chicken, I rate it as excellent. It does require some handling technique, but don't expect anything amazing. With 2 or 3 YouTube videos, I became an expert. The first time I took it out of the packaging, I cleaned it very well with hot water, sponge, and dish soap, dried it thoroughly with a towel, let it sit to warm up for 2 minutes to evaporate any moisture, then I added a few drops of olive oil with kitchen paper and it's ready. Nothing sticks to it while cooking, very minimal and expected in the beginning, and afterwards, when it's slightly warm, cleaning it with a wooden or metal spatula with hot plain water and sponge, and it's ready for grilling like on a charcoal barbecue. For BBQ enthusiasts. No more non-stick pans that warp after a few uses and need replacement.
After the 26 cm, I decided to get this cast iron one for larger meals or pizzas, bread, etc. Incredible flavors and many options from meat to pizza. The meat becomes like charcoal. I ended up with a maintenance pattern that becomes more non-stick every time, I think.
- I wash it with hot plain water and a brush.
- I heat it on the eye again for water evaporation.
- I wipe it with a paper towel with a little olive oil or sunflower oil while it's hot.
The food is cooked at 5 instead of the 8 that I used to cook on the aluminum non-stick pan.
Good grilling!
It requires a lot of care but it lasts a lifetime.
You are saved from the aluminum ones that need to be changed every now and then.
It also retains heat for a very long time and is convenient even for use in the oven
Weight 3680g which means quite thick and can retain its temperature for a longer time due to higher heat capacity than other cheaper cast iron pans.
It came pre-seasoned from the factory, but expect that it needs at least another 2-3 rounds to become non-stick or 5-6 for a very good non-stick coating.
Tool !!!!!
It's worth its money.
It's a pleasure to work with it...
First time in the sport, very good performance, heavy and durable. You definitely need to get the handle too... With simple maintenance, it will last a lifetime.
I had forgotten the pleasure of the art of true frying. There is no greater deception in my opinion than non-stick cookware. The first generation was toxic. The second generation is supposed to be healthy but delicate. Don't rub it, don't burn it, don't put it in the dishwasher. Why all this? So that the food doesn't stick...
Get this pan and forget about the nonsense about non-stick pans. Heat it up to whatever temperature you want, fry as much as you want and whatever you want, and then scrape off the food residue with a metal spatula to satisfy your soul.
Does it stick? Very little, nothing like what you imagine. Cleaning is easy as long as you don't soak it because it rusts. Besides, it doesn't need soaking. Take the thick wire brush from the kitchen and scrub it! It's not dishwasher safe, but it doesn't matter. I can't wait for the rest of my pans to break so I can get Lodge pans in every size.
I didn't give it an excellent rating solely because of the weight. There is a lighter series available, but with a corresponding cost. Very good!!!
For frying at high temperatures, it is incomparable (today it cooked incredibly delicious mushrooms and beef steaks on 30/3/19). The food does not stick if you handle it correctly (there are plenty of related videos). In general, it cooks nicely and healthily. It is heavy, but that's how it should be. UNCOMPARABLE!
The candidate buyer should take into consideration a) the heavy weight that makes it difficult to clean b) the obligation to immediately follow the cleaning and oiling process after use.
I am the owner of this specific frying pan for about three months. The pan is not only non-stick, but it also sticks all the food I put on it, whether at high or low temperatures. I really would not recommend anyone to buy it, it's not worth a single euro. I have called the company that imports them twice, but even they don't know what's happening. The first time they told me that I should start with high temperature and then lower it, the second time I called, they told me that the pan should always be at a high temperature. However, in both cases, the food sticks to the pan. It really is a very bad purchase. Besides all that, we are talking about a very heavy utensil that is particularly difficult to move around in the kitchen. With this money, I would suggest you go and buy three pans that will be much better in terms of quality and healthier according to modern studies.

Without a second thought, anyone who doesn't have one should get it soon.
It takes a little time to get used to, but it is excellent.
