Description

The raven is for me an exceptionally enchanting, ambiguous mythical figure: on one hand of death and dark omens, on the other a prelude to light. That is why it nestled among the rare tales of this small collection. Because all, except for the humorous one, lead from darkness to light – from "oh, sorrow" to "phew, freedom." They come from many parts of the world – from the Arctic Circle, the Cree Indians of Canada, the Berbers of Kabylia, the Thousand and One Nights, East Africa, Tibet. At the heart of the book, Greece, with two wonderful magical tales from my homeland, Lesvos. The narration of all the tales is followed by an epilogue with their commentary. If some pull you by the sleeve, bring them to life with spoken word. Telling them is the only way to return them to the world of orality that gave them life. Those who have no experience in storytelling, remember that tales do good – both to the teller and the listener. Dare. The only sure "technique" is to tell them with your heart. Beginning of the tales. Good evening to you!
